"Bought as someone previously had used it as a ring det-105 equivalent. Easily installed within minutes let there be light in my bathroom! Hope it lasts for a while!! Hate loft insulation!"
"I purchased two of these to go with some Sylvania downlighters. The Transformers shipped in light grey plastic with blue text on them. The instructions leaflet was easy to follow and clearly carried the warning about not crossing input/output flexes. Connecting up was a doddle and as I was going to be working in a dark attic I pre-wired the units in daylight before final installation under torchlight. The units are silent in operation (no humming despite sitting on a plasterboard ceiling) and the slow start should help the bulbs last a little longer. Very happy with the product so far. Only time will tell what kind of service life I will get from them."
"It's a bit early to tell how good the transformer is. It was easy enough to fit (it replaced a dead one easily enough), and the lights work. If they're still working in 10 years it's clearly a very good buy!"
"Because it was so cheap I was unsure if it was really suitable to run 5 12v 20w halogens in a bathroom, even though the VA rating was suitable. But it was fine and worth the money, an excellent buy. Would recommend this item as a cheap replacement for a burnt out transformer. I replaced a RING DET-105 with this item."
"Very easy to wire up. Nice slimline design so if the transformer ever stopped working, it can be slid out of the hole in the ceiling to be changed unlike the older "brick" style transformers. My ceiling has been plasterboarded and cant gain access to transformer other than through a downlight hole. I just used about 40cm long wire on the transformer near to a light hole so that it can be pulled out should it fail. I recommend these transformers highly."
