"once you have gone through the learning process of this jig it is great to use (I wrote a list on masking tape of actions to do before getting router near the wood, on top of the finger jig too remind me). I wish that I had bought one years ago. This is one of those devices that the saying, "practice makes perfect" most definatly applies too. Screwfix how about stocking the aditional jigs available for this device? I will be looking for them very soon i feel!"
"Once you've got the jig properly set up it's quick and easy to make half blind dovetail joints. I've had this jig for a few months now and I use it far more than I thought I would.
I'm currently using it to knock out about 30 storage boxes for my business and as they're on public display I wanted the boxes to look good. I experimented with various wood types for but settled on 18mm birch ply which is less expensive than hardwood, more durable than softwood and is surprisingly attractive when dovetailed. The 120mm joints on each box can be cut in less than 10mins.
Care needs to be taken when clamping the wood down into the jig that everything is square, properly aligned and that the clamps are done up tightly."
