"I am never without one of these. I keep it in my drill/driver, ready for use. So much easier than trying to hold a screw by hand to start it. Lets you hold screw steady in one hand whilst the power driver is held in the other. Gives some space in which to work and reaches in to awkward places. Speeds up repetitive assembly jobs like flat pack kitchens etc."
"I had never used one of these before. The shop recommended it,as I had purchased a large number of screws. Provided you stick to the recommended maximum size, it becomes so much easier to screws in any screw that is magnetic. You can use it with brass, but remember to hold the screw in until it touches the wood."
"In use, these are handy bits of kit. Put the screw in the holder, then slide the sleeve down to cover it. Press the screw into the surface, and turn on the screwdriver. The screw drives home, without damaging your fingers.
I have gone through several of these over the years, as they do fail. Treat them as a consumable, expecting to replace them every so often. Or buy an extra one, as they are ridiculously cheap. Either way, do not be without one.
Also available in stubby size, with same comments."
