"Very useful when you need to to drill pilot holes and screw driver at the same time. I needed it for putting self tapping screws into metal window frames. Here's how I did it. Insert drill end and drill pilot hole, then effortlessly swop drill bit to the screw driver bit and drive the self tapper home. Also what I like is the drill bit can be undone by an allen key and you can then replace it. Likewise the screw bit is held magnetically so you can use any standard bit of your choice and requirements. Saves a lot of time and you only need one Power tool!"
"I've used one of these sets for the last 5 plus years. Beside the odd replacement drill bit and screwdriver bit it's been dependable and saved untold hours swapping drill bits for screw driver bits.
Compared to the quick release chucks and accessories on the market this device still saves on time, pilot hole, counter hole, countersink and then drive the screw in two stages - a simple flip of the bit!"
"Have three different brand sets of Flip-drivers, and whilst one type will require pulling the sleeve back and the others push the sleeve forward to release drill/driver, this gadget saves countless times, bending down to pick up separate drill, countersink and driver cordless units. Any time I use this gadget in front of householder, they are all amazed and intrigued by the invention. All in one gadget for the fitter/carpenter is a must, especially if your working alone."
"I have found this item extremely useful on many occasions but unfortunately find myself in a position where I can not find replacement pilot drill bits. If anyone can suggest where I can purchase these then please do advise. They have a flat sided shank so they can be held in position by means of a grub screw so ordinary HSS twist bits do not work aswell."
"A nice and basic cheap and cheerful set. No frills but it works and does what it is meant to. There are obviously better kits out there but at this price I have no complaints at all. Great for the DIY'er but if you are a tradesman spend a little bit more money and invest in some better quality tools."
"Great Invention. Used mine a lot and saves bags of time fiddling about changing bits. Unfortunately though, 2 of the pilot drill bits have snapped off and when I tried to remove them from the driver the bottom end of the bit got sucked into the body by the magnet! Only way out was to drill through the magnets (thus wrecking them) and push the broken bit through. I agree with the previous comment that paying the extra couple of quid for the De Walt version would be worthwhile."
"for this price is for few use, unbrand, and screw bits is no quality but you can use this for ligcht stuff, material is aluminium made ,i dont like this and for beginner builders be exelent for first time use :-)"
"The idea is great but the overall quality isn't what I expected. The main problem as has been mentioned is that the drill can slip into the the holder pulled in by the magnet and is nigh on impossible to get out again. Poor design in that respect."
"I haven't even managed to get the device working yet. I went to adjust the drill depth (by the way, the Hex screws were very poor quality); the bit slid inside against the magnet and was so short I can't get it out! Held firmly in place by the magnet. One (now two) useless flip drivers!"
"I bought this set last week. Not expecting much as it was very a cheap price but i would still expect it to work. Not sure if it was missing but an alan/hex key would have been helpful to adjust the drill bit.
Once the bits were in the holder the holder must be bent as when you start drilling you can clearly see it doesn't drill straight.
"If you leave the screw driver bit in, it doesn't fit in your chuck, which defeats the object, plus when you do manage to get it in your chuck, the body of it is that soft it crushes, plus the counter sink burns rather than cutting. Hence I will be returning them to the store."
"Bought this and only used to countersink a dozen screws and ball bearing fell out of holder.traveled back to ScrewFIx and exchanged for another set. Traveled back to site to start again and put in drill and found shank was slightly bent and caused rotation of drill bit to wobble. Returned to store and handed back and bought De Walt set . Lost about 4 hours work plus traveling back and forward to ScrewFix on two occasions.
Lesson learned not to buy inferior equipment again.Stick to quality brands."
