"A super little piece of kit that I received as a gift. I've pushed it well past the limits of what it's supposed to do and it keeps surprising me, not length wise obviously!
Among other stuff, I had a small quantity of fairly dry and some green oak up to approx 600mm (around 24") diameter and it split it without any bother at all. Just need to be careful with some well seasoned wood as it tends to almost explode. Scary the first time you experience it. Just remember gloves and safety glasses, to be safe.
Also make sure that you open the bleed screw about 3 turns and you'll hear air escape as it works. It'll get damaged quite quickly if left in the closed transport position. Luckily I've used hydraulics before and did read the instructions before use. I also checked the fluid level after a few hours (didn't think it necessary before I started) and it needed about 1/2 litre of oil. I'd advise checking before use. Not a big deal though and easily done.
Now to go out and cut down some more trees, just so I can use it again! Wonder where I can store the wood?"
