"I have been a joiner for 10 years since I left school I bought this plane back then and was still going strong till it was stolen other wise I wouldn't of had the need to re buy I recommend it to all our apprentices as there 1st plane cant beat it for the money"
"This is a good quality plane for my needs and well worth the money. I am a DIYer, and I guess I could have gotten a higher quality plane if I knew it, but for much more cash.
This is great value, I have used it several times to plane doors and frames to get that smooth finish for final sanding. Does the job. Couldn't ask for more! And I haven't needed to sharpen it yet after about 30 uses at least!"
"I am a time served joiner, now retired and have used top quality planes all my time. Buying a cheaper and smaller smoother worried me a bit but this plane is very good value and works well. It's a little narrow for large smoothing jobs but fine for general use. The handle is on the short side and may not suit large hands but this isn't a major problem. Nicely made and solid body with good quality fittings apart from the alignment lever which is a bit cheap looking but works fine. You are going to pay well over twice the price for craftsman quality and if you aren't a pro using a plane every day, why would you? This does a perfectly good job."
"Bought this for general work and for the money it does a fair job. Like any new plane it needed a quick run across the oil stone and it was good to go. If you want perfection you need to spend at least another £50.00 but this plane does a fair job for the price."
"Cheap plastic handles, and out of the pack it's about as sharp as my mums old carving knife. That said seems well put together, the sole is perfectly flat, and adjustment works well. Not bad at all for the price."
