"A cleaver designed plate attaches to the back box allowing simple, strong, and visible connections to be made in the big wire connections. The white cover then slips over the top when the wiring is complete.
Don't waste time with others, buy the best from MK, and at a reasonable price.
"Had to join a double oven to a cooker circuit. 3 heavy duty cables, this was the only connector I found with the capacity to accomodate 3 thick cable wires in each terminal. Well done Screwfix (again!)"
"This product has a frame which screws to the wall. The frame contains easy-to-get to "slot" terminals which face towards you (not towards the wall as with other designs) - just lay all the wires you want connected into the slot in one terminal and then fit the terminal's clamp screw. The terminals face towards you as you're fitting the wire - no more struggling to poke several thick, uncooperative wires into a hole in a terminal that's facing away from you! When you're all finished just fit the white cover and the job is complete.
Save yourself a load of frustration and get one of these."
"I bought 2 of these to install 2 ovens. The internal connectors unscrew from the back box in a frame making it very easy to connect the wires. It easily took 2 6mm wires in the same hole, which is what I needed.
Just make sure you buy the matching MK pattress box, as the screws are slightly off centre and will not fit with other boxes as I found out!
I've given 5 stars for performance and reliability, but time will tell."
"if your using 3-core 6mm2 heat resistant flex cable (which I've used with an 85C rating) the cable clamp is a joke as its just WAY WAY toooo small. Sure, there are people who throw standard 6mm or 10mm2 twin and earth into these things, but use a proper professional expensive heat rate cable and the flaws start to show as a TERRIBLE design by MK. would it have hurt to make the clamp screws 5mm longer!!???! Steer clear if using flex 6mm2 heat resistant cable. 20mins fighting with this stupid cooker connector rather than getting on with the job. BE WARNED... STEER CLEAR."
"First the item was cracked, I should have returned it but the time and fuel required to return it made it not worth the effort.
Second because of the location it was to be installed in needed to go into a surface patrice, I purchased an MK patrice so that it should match the form. On assembly I found that the cooker outlet would not sit completly in the patrice box a one mill gap was left.
Mk used to be a manufacturer of quality products they are now no better than products at the budget end of the market but are still charging premium costs.
Will save money in future and buy from other makes."
