"As a landscaper this piece of kit is a complete life saver. Be it cutting hedges, guttering on a bungalow and much more. Only had it for a week and I am lost without it already. I cut a hedge that I do every year last week and I saved myself 1 hour. If your a tradesman, this ladder will honestly pay for itself."
"Great ladder - very easy to put together and really sturdy - will be very useful for a number of jobs, originally purchased for decorating purposes but will be great in the garden when cutting the hedge."
"I have been looking for a Lyte ladder/platform for some weeks and found it at Screwfix by accident after another failed attempt to purchase. Screwfix had the item in stock and was £10 cheaper than the previous potential supplier. After 5 weeks of being given hassle, the problem was solved in a morning.
Thanks Screwfix for a good product and service that was perfect."
"Very simple to put up and stow away, is quite stable when assembled. The choice of heights is good. As will as climbing on, this made an excellent bench while cutting plasterboard, the ladders also are useful on their own as a mini-ladder, very stable due to the wider bases (why are they not all like that?). A great buy, we expect this to be in the family fro many years throughout many DIY jobs."
"We were doing some exterior painting and it was going painfully slow. Moving steps every time we finished one area was holding up the job considerably. Furthermore the steps we have haven't got a particularly wide step, so it caused either myself or my partner to slow down because of the pain in our feet. Buying the platform was the best move we made. Working on a wide space which is deep enough to have your whole foot on makes the jobs much easier and quicker. The platform is stable so you feel safe and confident when working on them. The platform can be set up to just over a metre, which is excellent as our windows are tall. Building the platform for the first time was straight forward, a few nuts and bolts! The platform does require 2 people to move it, but this is one of the reasons it is stable. It certainly isn't too heavy. We haven't dismantled the platform yet, but set up was simple...a couple of spanners. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs to work above 1.5 metres for an extended area e.g ceilings, exterior woodwork, putting in pipes or cabling etc. Noticed on some reviews that it didn't fit on stairs. It does fit on ours, however we have a 30s house with reasonably wide steps so it will fit when we need to paint up the stairs...which will be great."
"Purchased to decorate staircase upper walls, checked width required from reviews, all ok. However it is impossible to use on normal staircase (straight no turns 85cms wide) House built 2011 so more less bog standard you cannot get the platform level due to pitch of stairs.only suitable for a very low pitched set of steps, rather than an average domestic house stairway. Very disappointed as they seem the perfect piece of kit for job. Had to return for credit"
"A bit pricey but a strong and very useful bit of kit. Saves a lot of time compared with a step ladder when painting walls and ceilings and it's safer too. I've made a small plywood "shelf" to fit on mine to put the paint etc on."
"Very pleased with this product. I nearly bought a similar but slightly cheaper one from a local builders' merchant. Then I had to get a replacement when I broke an old ladder. Nothing wrong with the other one I looked at, but the Screwfix one has a confidence building rigidity and stability which the other one didn't and as far as I am concerned is worth the small premium. Thanks for the prompt delivery by the way."
"Excellent piece of kit. Using mainly for hedge trimming. Ladders very light, mid section platform very sturdy. Overall very stable and fairly easy to maneuver when repositioning.
My only gripe is the height which as others have said is only 1m high NOT 1.2m as per blurb which possibly relates to the working height as steps (without the platform). Warning labels on the third rungs indicate any higher than 1m would be unsafe in the platform position. Hooks on the fourth rung prevent use at 1.2m anyway.
Couple of pointers, fairly easy to put together. The stabilising feet couldn't be inserted without the removal of black spacers on the ladder inserts. The ladders needed a squeezing a bit as the stabilisers were tight. The platform crossbars are handed so only fit one way, smaller width matches the upper ladder with hooks on."
