"A bit pricey but you can feel the difference in weight when holding this valve and a cheaper version. This valve gives you unrestricted 22mm throughput while others restrict down to 15mm or worse. The wheel is very robust - not cheap aluminium - and is quite stiff to turn, which means that leaks from the spindle are unlikely. These valves are good for power showers."
"I can and will pay over twice as much for a good quality branded product. Particularly something like a gate valve, as it will most likely be me who has to operate it in future when completing further work for my customers. - Of the two valves I recently picked up from Screwfix, one had the gland backnut cross-threaded (!) with a lump of brass swarf hanging out of it, and the other was very stiff to operate. On closer inspection, the gate swivels a worrying amount inside the body of the valve and would likely jam prematurely in future. I will never again buy a Yorkshire/Pegler branded gate valve as the quality is simply abysmal. - Due to the flow-restricting nature of the cheaper gate valves stocked by screwfix, I will buy my gate valves elsewhere in future. - Needless to say, Screwfix staff were understanding and issued my refund with a sincere apology. - DO NOT BUY THESE VALVES! Yorkshire need to up their game."
"Bought 2 of these Peglar 22m Gate Valves for low-pressure water use, thinking they were high quality products. Each valve was fitted by a different person, one to a cold water pipe and one to a hot water pipe. Neither valve would shut-off properly, so a totally and completely useless purchase. Worse than that, of course, since they had to be replaced by valves that DID work properly."
"Valve failed in service after 2 months. Wouldn't expect that from a Pegler valve, I'd paid more for a so called reliable named brand. The wedge had twisted in the gate and hence wouldn't close properly. Not Screwfix's fault but a pain having to drain the system, remove the valve and fit a replacement valve. See how long this one lasts. (the valve is operated regularly so hadn't become stiff due to scale etc)"
