"Living in a house with 3.4m ceilings I have been looking for some decent stepladders that will not break the bank. With these ladders I have come to the end of my search. Having worked in engineering for 30 years I know quality kit when i see it and this is quality. Well made ,and the main thing is its made to BS 2037 class one which means its head and shoulders above the normal houseold stepladder, no movement when on top platform steady as a rock, checkout other ladders and some of them even say top platform not suitable for standing on!! And best of all they are very light as I store these in my loft. Would recommend these for work or home use should last a lifetime."

Review 3 for Lyte BSBP6 Platform Steps Aluminium 6-Tread
"These are a great pair of ladders, they are not cheap for what you get. What you get is above average, they are fairly strong and do not come with that many added extras such as non slip steps etc.
I would recommend these ladders as they are much better than other brands I have tried. One thing to note is, there is another similar version of these but with the string rather than a metal locker. These are the worse and these are a much better upgrade but at double the price on screwfix (only).
The steps are not non slip, the bend fairly easy so these are not heavy duty, you cannot throw these around. They are light, easy to move around (my 62 year old mother can swing these around).
For light diy work these are A++ for an extra amount you could get the Lyte Heavy Duty Aluminium Platform Ladder & Safety Handrails 6-Tread 1.91m Product Code: 40333 which is similar to these ones but with added features such as non slip treads.
wabhughug - If you are standing on the top you have the wrong size ladders, the top metal bar is for a toolbox addon, its not mean to be stood on to get into a loft. This is dangerous and you need the correct height ladders."

"Appear sturdy and well made but in use they are very stiff to open and close and if you have to step up to the top rung e.g. to go up into a loft, the distance from the platform to the top is too great. So they're good ladders unless you have to open them or use the full height for any reason."
