Overall a Good Unit
9 Feb 2014

"Overall a good unit. Probably unnecessary to say for a 2G switch, but it is actually 2 way. Body robustly constructed and easy to install.
Have had the 1G and 2G version and with both found that, especially in cold weather, the front needs care to securely close and when closed, the switches are prevented from latching on and off smoothly by waterproof window (they seem to want to stick to it?)"

Good switch in poor housing
4 Jul 2012

"This switch looks fine internally, but the weatherproof housing is badly flawed. The first switch from Screwfix broke on the first occassion that I closed the weatherproof cover - at the bottom of the cover, there is a hard plastic tongue which is intended to latch into the base unit to provide a weatherproof seal, but the tongue broke off when I closed the cover. Screwfix replaced the switch without delay, but the replacement refused to close properly, so was definitely not weatherproof. I called Screwfix again and accepted a full credit for the switch, along with the 13 amp socket from the same manufacturer that I bought at the same time - see next review. I have used the credit to buy an MK switch and socket, and from past experience, I am sure that they will be satisfactory. The moral of the story is - 'Don't choose cheap items when safety is important'. Full marks to Screwfix for trying to help, but the product is definitely safe to use!"
