"My old Salamander pump was at the end of its life. This is the newer version which was straight forward to fit (some modification of inlet pipework required due to inlets now being on the top rather than side). Operates more quietly than the old one - barely noticeable when the airing cupboard door is shut. One of the better priced pumps especially with the sale discount. Can't comment on reliability at this stage but if it lasts as long as the old one..."
"Small in size and pokey. Can run 2 showers if pipework is designed correctly, but with reduced flow to each - this is not recommended by the manufacturer. Anti vibration feet are better than the old model that used to fall off all the time. Cant rate on reliability as have only fitted one."
"This has completely transformed my family's shower time!!! Plumber found it easy to install and he say he would recommend to any other installer. You genuinely can't hear the pump when on. Can't recommend highly enough to anyone! Great Buy!!"
"My old shower pump gave up the ghost after a couple of years and although this wasnt the same pump that died on me, (think that was a Showermate or something like that) so my plumber had to do do a bit of fiddling with the pipes. The new pump is alot quieter and not sure if its my imagination or not but I seem to be getting a better shower!! Wouldnt hesitate to recommend this to anyone. And the price is good too!!!"
"My powerforce pump eventually packed up so opted for this new design salamander pump. Not as powerful as the old one but certainly does the job. quiet running, not as noisy. Its short and dumpy. a new design but under the bath no one can see it! Fitting was easy, it comes with push fit hoses but I had to use longer ones due to my installation. a nice feature is the raised 'flow direction arrows' on the casing so you know which hose goes where. Ideal replacement and being slightly less powerful, which is not a problem, means less water usage and now I'm on a meter it was the right time to replace my old one, afterall every little helps."
"Easy enough to fit. A 13amp plug is already fitted. Works fine so far , fitted to one shower. Would be nice to have an adjustable flow rate, but it's not a problem. Marked down on reliability as it has been used three times."
"I've only ever installed one of these - I'm DIY not trade - to replace an anchient old pump...it all seemed straight forward to me - particularly as the push on pipe/joints fitted my copper pipes without any issues.. check the size and that you can position your pipes easily over the well marked input and output pipes on the pump...I agree with all the positive statements regarding value for money, quietness and performance....it did stop working after about 3 weeks - it was a piece of cake to remove the defective pump as it was in the airing cupboard and just as easy to return for a replacement at Screwfix ( the service was fabulous ). These things happen I'm sure - so I'll put it down to just being a dud - so I'm giving this an good rating on reliability - if the replacement breaks - I'll be back with a less favorable review to question if these are as cheaply made as they are priced.....if it doesn't break I'll be singing it's praises in years to come."
"Very impressed with the ease of installation and the quality of the product, it also looks great. This shower pump is very small in physical size which is a huge bonus when trying to install it in those tight spaces. Despite it being a small pump the performance is great and it doesn't make too much noise- all pumps make some noise remember! Cant comment on reliability yet as its not long been installed. Lastly, well done Screwfix for having great in-store stock levels."
"Bought this pump to replace a 4 year old shower pump that burnt out. Installation was simple as pipework was already there, but it is no big deal to install anyway. The pump is quieter than the unit it replaced and so far it is working well with no problems. On balance, it seems a good twin impeller pump for a single shower application."
"This is a compact and powerful little pump. It was very easy to fit as a replacement and the setting up process, too, was simplicity itself. The push fit connecting pipes are excellent and a real time-saver. I've had similar Salamander models in the past and have always been pleased, so let's hope this one is equally good. 'Does what it says on the tin'."
"Bought this CT50+ pump to replace the previous CT50 version I had which was 8 years old and had developed a leak in the impeller case. As others have commented, it can be reluctant to start, it claims to have the same pressure rating, but the "+" impeller case is smaller than the previous, so the initial flow rate when you open the mixer tap can be not enough to get it started. If you wiggle the flexible hose or lower the shower head it will flow. We have an EcoCamel shower head which further causes a reluctance to flow, but either placing your thumb over the air hole in the handle or turning the mixer tap off and on again gets it in full flow. Installation is straight forward, if you have the right parts. The pump comes with 4 pipe fittings intended for vertical pipes. My installation has horizontal pipework for which I could use one existing connection. Fortunately I had kept the fittings from the previous pump kit which had 2 vertical and 2 horizontal fittings in it, so I had part to connect it up. Shower pumps do fail, its just one of those facts of life, its when they leak that they are the most troublesome. I am now on the look out for a leak/water alarm as I have the new pump stood in a drip tray, and would like to know when the next leak happens before any damage is done."
