"Bought this to replace a similar cistern which was not dual flush. Chose this one because it said it works with a high level cistern with a pull chain. At first sight it looked identical to my old one, but it turns out that the dual flush is achieved with grooves in the centre shaft that let air in to stop the flow if you hold the chain down while flushing. For a full flush you pull and let go as usual, then the grooves are submerged. Cunning! Works very well, easy to install. The old one has been working perfectly for 12 yrs, so assume this will be as good."
"I delayed repair for a long time because I had to remove a lot of wood paneling to get to the cistern,(poor design I know) hence the Victorian method of bucket flush for a long period. The Opella was easy to fit, no leakage, and everything was included to complete fitting. The dual flush works really well, reliability will be tested with time but at present everyone is happy. At less than a fiver you can't go wrong and it's made (I think) in Britain. Well done again Screwfix."
"sturdy and easy to fit. On reflection after fitting, I think for future syphon replacements on close coupled cisterns, I might use the type where syphon can be clicked off the stem to replace, thus avoiding need to dismantle the whole close coupling. But this is not a criticism of this item --- it is good value and reliable ."
"bought this to replace the old syphon in an overhead cistern. bargain at a fiver and really easy to fit. i siliconed the joints just to be sure of a water tight seal and have had no problems. its only been in a month or so therefore the reliability remains to be seen. but so good so far! the dual flush is a bonus too."
"Fitted a couple of these now without great problem. Opella could improve the drawing because I always hesitate when I set the bungs - does black blob mean bung in or out. A key would answer it all. Otherwise a brilliant replacement."
