"I bought an identical Stanley bradawl around 25 years ago and when it eventually gave in to my mistreatment of it I thought it was worth getting another one. The new one didn't do quite so well, in fact it failed on the first use. I'm guessing it was a manufacturing defect as although it looked fine just a slight pressure on the tip and the metal shaft dissapeared back into the plastic handle. Screwfix replaced it with no quibbles and the replacement seems okay. Nice sharp point, ideal for marking/starting holes in wood etc. fits nicely in the hand. Just a doubt as to whether it'l last as well as my old one!"
"Lost the bradawl I'd had for years, so bought this replacement. As it was a Stanley make and, any way, what can go wrong with a bradawl? Got it home and used it immediately to put pilot holes in kitchen plinths, but on only the third hole the blade of the bradawl pushed up onto the handle. I took the bradawl back to screwfix and got an identical replacement, so let's hope this one's ok."
"Returning this item. Took it out of the packaging and attempted to make a small guide hole in some 30 year old plasterboard. Light pressure resulted in metal shaft disappearing in to handle! Really poor quality item, even for a DIY-er."
