"bought two of these to replace the two gate valves in my shower feeds that were leaking when shut. Minor pipe length rework 'cos these valves are longer than the gate valves that came out but no other issues and they shut the line of like they are supposed to. Couldn't have got a better fix if I's tried - very happy bunny here :-)"
"This review is really about all Peglar ball valves.
Firstly the negative bit - they are more expensive that other ball valves.
Now the positive bit - You only get what you pay for and these valves will last forever. If you are a DIYer then I suggest you spend the extra cash and get the best for your home. For about £1.50 cheaper you can get a similar valve and im sure they will do the job but I prefer to spend the extra money and get a good quality product.
Now the techical bit - A full bore valve will give you much better flow rates than normal isolator valves. If you are fitting mixer taps and want to isolate the hot and cold water supply, use the full bore valve. You will be amazed by the difference."
"I bought four Pegler valves from an on line supplier, not Screwfix, as I don't think they were selling them then. One had a poorly machined spindle so that the handle had a sloppy fit and didn't have a positive shut off or open, so I've ended up using an adjustable spanner or pliers on it . I can't get the full flow, which affects the temperature of the shower. I should have sent it back but it was too much hassle. I'm replacing it with one from SCREWFIX where you can check the product in the shop. If properly made they are a million times better than the rubbish gate valves they replace."
"Using these as part of a complete re-furbish. chose them specifically for the full bore feature and have had many problems in the past with alternative gate valves not shutting off fully. Hopefully these will do the trick."
"Bought 2 because they were supposed to be the best...cannot get a drip free seal from any of the four compression joints...must be out of line or carelessly made...have retightened...taken them apart and used tape but to no avail...wasted a lot of time and still have a drop oozing out every minute or so...buy another make!"
