Powered by a Mountfield 100cc 4 stroke engine, the SP164 self-propelled lawnmower is ideal for small to medium sized lawns up to 400m². The engine is very easy to start with a standard recoil rope system and will give many years of trouble-free mowing. There are 3 height adjusters offering 5 pre-set cutting positions, so adjusting the height of cut is quick and simple. The easy to remove collector holds 40Ltr of grass, while the mower can also be used without the collector if you wish to leave the cuttings.

"Excellent product, doesn't require much to set it up from the box, a bit fiddly to put the oil in but it starts first time and its worth the extra for the self propelled version. Thoroughly recommend this product, good value for money considering the cost of other similar products."
"Good value lawnmower from a good manufacturer. Easy pick up from store - but will take two of you ! Easy set up and minimal assembly. Once oil and petrol in started first time ! Used it for a few weeks now and very happy, the self drive takes all the hard labour out of this repetitive job. Engine not too loud but plenty of power to move and cut. Grass collector very easy to empty, unlike some rigid boxes."
"Having had a bad experience with the black 3HP B and S engined rotary mower I was not sure what to expect with this which was bought as a replacement. It appeared a little flimsy at first but it just works so well I can forgive this. The mower was easy to build and started on the first pull. It is light and easy to use. This mower travels at a rate of knots, which I like, and cuts very nicely even on wet grass. The resulting finish is low and level, cutting nicely to the edges of my lawn.It does have only one speed but can be pushed manually very easily if required At 100cc it is 50cc less than my last mower but is more then capable of doing the job. The exhaust sounds quite tinny (popping along when under strain -although not particularly noisy) but not unplesant whilst in use. I have not owned this mower for long but it has continued to start easily both hot and cold. The height of cut is easy to adjust. For my longer grass areas I remove the collector and wedge the flap slightly open to direct the grass flow safely downwards. Lawn mowing is a joy again, just fill up, start (easily) and go - how it should be. A fabulous little product. I hope other buyers are as lucky as I have been with this one."
"Be very careful - If you have any walking difficulties, then this one speed self propelled lawn mower is not for you! There should be a warning as such. It starts off at a rate of knots and you are pulled along with it. It only has the one speed, so you cannot slow it down. My husband is a pensioner and couldn't keep up with it. I thought my son may do better but he is arthritic, so no good for him either! Otherwise it seems to be a very good lawn mower, and a great way of keeping fit, if you can walk fast enough and keep up with it."
"Why have i not owned a petrol lawnmower before! It makes cutting the garden both easy and dare I say it, enjoyable. The mountfield is easy to start, easy to use, has adjustable cutting heights and makes cutting a large garden easy. I think that this purchase was great value and its economical in its fuel usage. Fully recommended!!"
"Absolutely fantastic machine. Easy to assemble and was up and running within 30 minutes. Started up first time and cuts the lawn like a dream. Easy to control and handle folds for simple storage. You will need a long funnel to fill it up with engine oil so may be worth buying one if you don't have one already. Overall a fantastic buy and I would highly rcommend."
"my 3rd mountfield worried when using latest--,problem although minor,no worries back to screwfix ,immediate relpacement ,now very happy . easy to use medium+lawns profiled,,very manouverable,no need for power drive cuts long grass very wet without stalling. only gripe would have liked larger more solid grassbox, but for size most are the same"
"I have quite a bit of grass and having struggled on for too long with an old Heavy Honda Mower and too many repair bills later - I decided to take the plunge. Picked up the Mower from my local screwfix store. Easy to assemble (Couple of screws for the Handles) Put in fuel and the correct amount of engine oil, pump the primer 3 times and pull the chord. Started First time! Cut quite heavy wet grass no problem. Light and manoverable, self propel uphill - no problem. I like it already. Time will tell regarding reliability - can't comment on that at the moment."
"This Mountfield mower is as expected very reliable very easy to operate and handle not so sure about the primer mechanism looks a bit flimsy but time will tell and quite difficult putting in oil as very little room but cannot fault the cut and after all that is what it is for. Delivery by Screwfix excellent and arrived on the day quoted"
"A cheap law mower that was easy to assemble and pick up however, the engine now smokes a lot after six months use only once a month use the grass collector drags on the floor and does not fill well if feels very cheap. The self propelled bit is very slow and I can not use it as a push along only without it locking up the driven wheel.
If you want a cheap petrol mower it is cheap but shows it. It goes to show you get what you pay for. I would go for the push along one if I had chance again or pay slightly more and get a better one."
