Irwin Dovetail saw
9 Jul 2014
By sunbeam6

"This is the first time I have used Screwfix and the staff where friendly and help full.
The saw itself is a great piece of kit.
It is obviously based on Japanese saws with cutting done on the pull stroke.
I found it very accurate with a thin kerf and easy to get used to.
Although it is meant for small delicate work it is not shy about cross cutting much larger pieces of wood.
It is comfortable to use and with changeable blades sharpening is a thing of the past.

Cuts very cleanly

"A lot better than I expected it to be. Gives a very nice clean cut and is very sharp. The blade is also flexible, but not too much so."

My favourite saw
17 Sep 2012
By Lasef
, South Bucks
"Bought this saw 4years ago and use it all the time for detail work- cutting joints and flush cuts. It has a very thin kerf and cuts so clean you’ll never need to sand the cut.
Compared to other Japanese pull saws I’ve seen this one is really good value for money. It’s not so great on ripping wood, planning on buying a separate blade for that purpose."

Excellent fine detail saw
24 Feb 2012
By PianoTuner
, Northampton
"I was amazed how easily it cuts. For fine work you need more information than is given. The blade width is 0.4mm and the kerf is about 0.5mm, so you can cut with something just over 0.5mm cut width."

Toolbox Bonus
29 Nov 2011
By JBob
, Kettering
"This is by far the most useful saw I have purchased. It's very sharp, and very flexible, which means you can hold the saw flush to a curved or shaped guide and get a clean and accurate cut. Perfect for clearing any protruding wood from awkward to reach places, or just handy and light to carry around for small cutting jobs."

Great for dowel work!
9 Sep 2009
By ChazUK
, Wales
"This saw has a very flexible blade and allows flush cutting of dowels. The blade is simple to replace by pushing the button located towards the end of the blade (nearest the handle) and slides out easily. The only thing to watch out for is the teeth can get clogged with excess wood glue pushed out by inserting the dowel, wipe the blade carefully after each cut if excess glue is a problem. Recommended."

Good product for careful use
13 Jul 2012
By wolverine874
, Cumbria
"I bought this for some fine detail work on wood joints. It's a very narrow saw, which is great as the kerf is so narrow you don't lose a lot of material when you make the cut.
The downside is that the blades are really easy to bend on the forward-stroke of the cut, as they are so thin and flexible. Once bent, they don't go back into the same shape so easily, and therefore are much more likely to bend under normal, gentle, use.
Ideal for very gentle, light sawing where detail and accuracy is required, but they need a light touch if you are going to make the blade last."

Good saw if a little bendy
13 Jul 2011
By Nomad
, Cambridge
"Bought this before fitting out a kitchen and was so glad I got it! All the cupboards and units were custom-made on site, and the building had pretty much no right angles in it at all. This saw is ideal for trimming down the edges of veneered worktops as you put them into place, ensuring a snug fit; the fine teeth don't chip the laminate too severely. The blade is a little too flexible to do the same to plywoods, and it has a very specialist use like all flush-cutting saws but for the price it's a great buy and when you need one of these, no other tool will do the job."

You'll be amazed
10 Dec 2008
By MeasureTwiceCutOnce

"If you have never used a pull saw before you will be amazed at how useful a small one like this can be. It is very thin and the teeth have no set so you can do delicate work without the slightest chance of damaging surrounding material."
