"As other reviewers state, it is quite chunky. But I quite like that nad it looked ok on my ffront door. The quality of finish seemed consistent on my one, unlike some other reviewers.
One negative was the screws supplied are too long. I had to use screws approx half the length supplied, as otherwise they hit the deadlock metal body, and thus don't screw in all the way. So, before you leave the shop buy some other small silver countersunk screws (eg Product Code: 18767) unless you already have some at home."
"I particularly wanted a plain and matt finish (chrome or nickel) escutcheon, so I bought this despite the poor reviews. My purchase did not have the quality issues that some reviewers have had, however it is quite a chunky design and not the best quality."
"First one I bought was so stiff it would not hinge at all. Took it back to the store. Three more proved equally poor. Two were too stiff to hinge and on the other the chromium plating was missing in areas. In the end I gave up and had a refund.
"On the quality front, the chrome plate (satin finish) was patchy and the shaft that the cover plate span on wasn't round so the plate stayed open (not ideal for a cover).
Not sure if this is my incorrect use but this is designed to sit over a lock i.e. there is metalwork behind the cover. The screws were too long and clashed with the lock behind and the covering disc clashed with the fitted handle so not a great success..."
