"Replacement for forty year old valve, like for like. Straightforward to fit and does the job. Lever arm easy to bend to ensure ball float.does not catch on the siphon or cistern. Cannot really comment on reliability long-term, but chosen as being simple and well made with little to go wrong. Hope it will last another forty years.
NB Easy to overlook these valves come with different lever lengths. I measured up first & had no problems."
"This is the worst part 1 valve we have ever fitted, every one we have fitted has failed had to replace three of them with Pegler ones at my expense. Avoid, spend a little bit more and get a reliable one."
"As per the previous reviews this is a dreadful waste of time and effort. The price of the items in no way counteracts the fact that it is not fit for purpose (unless you want a two stream water feature in your loft!). The water comes from two directions at quite high pressure, one of which will inevitably end up shooting somewhere you don't want it to. It needs an end cap!!!!!"
"This valve is totally rubbish. Installed it today in a low pressure house. And it leaked water at all ends. lucky I still had half the lid on the tank. Otherwise it would of cost me instead of charging my customer."
"This valve may be cheap, but there's a good reason for that - it's really badly designed. The valve not only pours water our of the expected exit, i.e down into the cistern where you want it, it also fires a jet across the cistern, where you don't. It then hits either the float or the other end of the cistern and sprays everywhere, and in my case escapes out of the cistern lid and onto the floor.
If you look carefully at the photo you'll see there is no end cap to prevent this as there has been on every other float valve I've bought. Don't buy one!"
