"Bought these to paint some chimney stacks, cheaper than a cat ladder, 10 or 15 minutes to attach them to my ladder, the good thing about these hooks are that once attached to my treble ladder I can adjust the ladder to the size of the roof and not be regulated by a single length cat ladder which would be too short for the job I bought these for, Very sturdy and heavy duty, the wheels to slide it up the roof pitch are suitable for the job, the hooks are quite deep so they fit over different angles of ridge tile easily. Worth the money"
"These are good and solid and fit well on to an normal ladder. The ladder was as safe and secure as any other roof ladder and the hooks did not flex or move even with a big load.
I was hoping they might come off and on more easily than they do so I could switch between normal ladder and roof ladder. 12 nylocks hold the hooks on so they are obviously aimed at converting a ladder more permanently, it takes about 15 mins to fit and remove the hooks."
"Handy ladder ridge hook for use with normal extension ladder. Offers a stable support for working on the roof. You do have to have the right length extension ladder so bear this in mind. Overall good purchase, it done the job as did not fall off the roof."
"I used 1 on each of 2 ladders to make 2 roofing ladders. This enabled me to gain full and easy access to all parts of my roof, which enabled me to make repairs to extensive hail damage which would have cost thousands to get a roofer to do.
The only down side is they take quite a while to fit.. One of the ladders I used was half of my extension ladder, so I had to take the hook on & off a few times.... Oh, and they could do with some plastic covers to cover the ends of the U bolts. that stick out from the nuts, once secured; they tend to bite knees & other body parts if you're not careful.
Apart from that, they're absolutely brilliant. But working on roofs can be dangerous; Gravity has no sympathy, so do please, get & use a safety harness!!!"
"This was needed for the occasional use, to adapt my standard alloy ladder to enable safe access to a roof. They worked well, but I found them a nuisance to put on and take off the donor ladder. I cannot offer a better solution for their fitment, but I am glad that I will not need to use them too often! They work well enough for the purpose designed."
"Good value product, bought this after reading the reviews and glad I did. This ridge hook is great for the now and again roofing jobs because of the time spent taking it on and off although if you bought one section of a ladder second hand so you could have it set up it would still be cheaper than buying a dedicated roofing ladder."
"I had previously borrowed a pair of these from a friend and was so impressed I decided to buy my own. They are easy to fit although it does take a bit of time but if you only need to go onto a roof occasionally then they are fantastic."
"These do exactly what it says on the tin. They convert a normal ladder to a roof ladder. However they clamp onto the rungs at the top. The bolts then stick out on the side you climb up, so if you are working near the ridge you get snagged on the bolts and the tread width of the ladder is much reduced. The hook actually rests on the tiles the other side of the ridge, not hook onto the ridge, a problem if you are replacing the top tiles as it rests on the membrane and tears it. Not sure if anything else would be better, although there are adaptors that fit to the side of the ladder, but I've not tried these."
