Good drill needs more torque

"bought this to replace my 14v NiCad DeWalt drill that is still working well though the batteries are starting to get a bit tired. nice to use but it tends to cut out a bit too soon when under pressure. perhaps I used and abused my other one too much and this one is stopping me from doing the same to it but for an expensive drill it possibly is a bit too tame. I was going to buy an 18v version but the description says its torque was the same as the 14v, so could be a battery protection measure, anyway screwfix have been out of stock of the 18v for ages so who knows if the 18v is better."
