Get a grip on your nuts

"I had need to remove the cap from my water system pressure regulator. It came off easily with the old water pump pliers I had but proved a bit difficult to do up again. looked on the internet for a 55mm adjustable but boy are they expensive, then this item came up on the ScrewFix site.
Ordered on line and picked up from my local outlet. Once home job done in a matter of minutes, no more leaks.
Nice touch the push button slide adjuster and excellent value at the £22.99

FatMax Pliers

"Overall a good tool priced about right.
It has a good grip and a solid construction which you'd expect from a good brand such as FatMax.
The only minor downside is the push button - whilst great to 'lock' the pliers at the right size, if you use with the button facing against a surface whilst gripping (i.e. the wrong way up), then the button can be accidentally pushed in, causing it to 'unlock'."

"Product does what it says on the package, will grip nuts to tighten/loosen. Bit on the flimsy side though, ok for diy- ers, but not tough enough for professionals"

Too big for comfort

"Thinking that Stanley was a name to trust, I bought this pair of rather expensive pliers. Well they may be robust and have a fancy push button adjustment, but they are really uncomfortable, feeling too big in my average to large hands. Workmates have tried them and had the same problem. Shame Stanley didn't get a plumber to product test before they started making them."

FatMax Needs Fat Hands
16 Mar 2011
By
, Dartford Kent
"Even for a 15mm pipe fitting you need large hands to get around the handle of this tool, at a glance you think the slide lock feature when opening would keep the grips at the same distance apart when opening for larger fittings but alas this is not the case, so big hands needed for this tool, Vini, Dartford,Kent"
