"Bought to replace an identical ~15 year old model that was accidentally destroyed when using a wallpaper steamer to remove Artex, which did require steam to be applied for a relatively long time to soften it. .
This model uses a bellows filled with a liquid for its temperature sensor. Steam entered the inside, overheating the bellows and making it expand so much that it buckled and distorted irreversibly, putting the thermostat in the permanently OFF state. No fault of the thermostat, otherwise I would not have bought an identical replacement, just a word of warning to remove it if you use a steamer nearby."
"You get what you pay for. My last Honeywell thermostat was going strong after 20 years and was replaced by a cheap Drayton unit after an "electrician" damaged it. The Drayton was unreliable and eventually packed up after a couple of years. I decided to fork out the extra money and replace it with a quality Honeywell unit. The LED is very useful as you don't have to listen to the click to know you have turned it up and made it call for heat from the boiler."
"Previously fitted a cheaper thermostat in place of the one that had been in service for years but looked a bit dated. that proved totally useless as it took so long to detect the actual room temperature. I was undecided as to whether or not to fit a digital thermostat as a replacement but went for this one as a direct three wire replacement with indicator light and no need for batteries. I cannot really be sure about reliability as it has not been in service long enough but it looks good was easy to replace and is extremely accurate when tested against an electronic thermometer. The room temperature is now nicely stable. Excellent !!!"
"Brought to replace an existing Honeywell room thermostat. It's good to that Honeywell have now installed a neon light to the front. Installed this for my 80 yr old mother . Who could no longer hear the click in the existing Honeywell. Good to install, as there was no change in the wiring or shape of the unit. No stress."
"Purchased this item as a direct replacement for a T6360 which has given many years of excellent service. This item has the added advantage of a neon indicator telling you if the heating is on or off which saves having to click the thermostat on and off to check. So it should last much longer than the original. The design is exactly the same as the original. No problem to fit and the heating was back up and running in 10 mins."
"Simple numbered like for like wiring connections made replacing our ancient room thermostat with this new 'stat a doddle. Previous fluctuations in room temperature have now largely been ironed out. Could probably have bought cheaper but preferred to stick with a known quality product."
"Thank goodness for the internet so I could get wiring diagram for 20 year old thermostat this replaced. Having determined which wire was which on my old wiring this fired up first time and so much neater than old grubby thermostat it replaced. The LED is useful to see if heating is calling for heat."
"I got this to replace a digital thermostat with too many features. And that one replaced an ancient Honeywell one so I thought go for that and keep it simple this time. The price is high but it feels like a quality product and the reviews here have been good. The LED is very useful and the temperature markings seem to be accurate so far. Now the whole family (yes, I mean you Miranda) can tell if the heating is on. The very ancient Honeywell used 3 wires but I'm only using 2 with this one and it's working fine. Time will really tell if it is reliable but 5 stars for now. Features gets 5 stars as well because it has so few."
