"I am usually a believer of buy cheap buy twice but I was pleasantly surprised by this unit. Easy to fit and tested well and no complaint from the customer so I am happy and will use again. Only 3 stars for reliability because I don't know how well it will stand the true test of time."
"I have installed 5 of these at customer sites to date, and have had no problems or call backs.
Pressing the test button causes a 35mA current to flow between live and earth, this trips the RDC to verify its operation. It will also trip the RCD, if fitted, in the main board. It most certainly will NOT trip the 100A main switch or any of the MCB on the board.
The last reviewer point is not valid, as there is no point in installing a RCD protected Spur in a house that has RCD protection in the main board. If you need to fuse down, then just use a fused spur."
"Isn't the Biz!! As with other people it simply didn't work correctly. Tripped out as soon as the appliance was turned on. Plus the "Test" button failed to make the device trip! Fitted the more expensive unit and this has worked with out a problem, Not good as people are buying these to keep themselfs safe."
"Read the reviews and because it was the cheapest and the reviews appeared mixed I hoped for the best and gave it the benefit of the doubt. Unit delivered was faulty so have returned it and will now have to purchase the more expensive unit"
"Bought this product to protect a shower pump but it tripped as soon as any current is taken from the spur regardless of the presence of an earth fault. Would not trust this product to do its job so its going back to be replaced with a unit from an alternative manufacturer."
"These are dreadful quality . Purchased two of these. Test button didn't work on one (physically faulty out of the packet), and fuse holder snapped on other one first time. Both binned and replaced with Product Code 40097 instead. Much better layout of terminals and more robust. I'm annoyed with myself for having bought them in the first place - should have known better."
