"A customer of mine had an ugly RCD plug in unit for their outside water feature. Installing this unit was so much neater and in conjunction with some 16mm trunking, transformed the appearance from ugly to almost beautiful !"
"This is an excellent product and great value. I have fitted 3 of these now withno call backs. Great value product. Only put four stars for reliability as this is really an unknown although no problems yet"
"Item does what it is claimed to do. It will not fit into a standard 25mm back box without causing damage to the cabling. I strongly recommend using a minimum 35 mm back box, or if you have the depth of wall, a 47 mm back box. 1st one of this manufacture that I have fitted, therefore low mark given for reliability."
"I am usually a believer of buy cheap buy twice but I was pleasantly surprised by this unit. Easy to fit and tested well and no complaint from the customer so I am happy and will use again. Only 3 stars for reliability because I don't know how well it will stand the true test of time."
"This is a budget item, and with that you will encounter issues if you have to use the flex knock out. As others have already commented that the material is brittle and the corner will snap off. best drill a pilot hole first."
"I have installed 5 of these at customer sites to date, and have had no problems or call backs.
Pressing the test button causes a 35mA current to flow between live and earth, this trips the RDC to verify its operation. It will also trip the RCD, if fitted, in the main board. It most certainly will NOT trip the 100A main switch or any of the MCB on the board.
The last reviewer point is not valid, as there is no point in installing a RCD protected Spur in a house that has RCD protection in the main board. If you need to fuse down, then just use a fused spur."
"Built pond, ran electrics in armoured cable with waterproof switchgear, fitted rcd spur. Did it work, yes! Until I switched off then rcd trips, main board trips.reset switch on fine which ever way it is switched of it trips. Where do I start to sort this out. Re read reviews for this rcd some good , some rubbish, tripping out like mine. Changed it for the Power Breaker Screw Fix 40097, more dosh but it works and no tripping out. What a performance now very relieved. Go for the 40097"
"As with other people it simply didn't work correctly. Tripped out as soon as the appliance was turned on. Fitted the more expensive unit and this has worked with out a problem, don't waste your time buying this version, pay the little extra for the better quality version."
"Isn't the Biz!! As with other people it simply didn't work correctly. Tripped out as soon as the appliance was turned on. Plus the "Test" button failed to make the device trip! Fitted the more expensive unit and this has worked with out a problem, Not good as people are buying these to keep themselfs safe."
