"I am well impressed with this catch but, not good with a round door handle as strong spring which meant my wife having to use two hands. With a lever handle it is excellent; well made, solid and built to last."
"Extremely well made with both Brass and Chrome fittings. The double sprung system gives a positive, firm feel to the handle operation. Particularly useful were the two different sized plates for different door thicknesses as I was fitting a fire door - will buy them for the others still to be fitted. Could include some instructions."
"I've used quite a few of these now and have been impressed with their quality. Good strong spring return and positive catch. Like the back box for the strike plate to fit over makes a neat job. Have had a number of these for around 3 years now and no deterioration evident."
"Tubular latch kit with more faceplates than you need . There will be bits left over . Install with the marker line embossed on the body uppermost . Then set the catch direction when you fit the faceplate . I would have preffered to purchase a pack with just the faceplate of my choice , for a lower price . . ."
"Bought this to replace a very cheap latch which kept sticking. Thought I'd spend a bit more money and noticed the quality difference. Installed very smoothly and operates very well. Worth not buying the cheapest."
The latch protrudes from the cylinder slightly which enables it to be rotated to suit left or right hanging doors. When fitted the cover plate prevents the latch from rotating, however over time the latch has loosened up and protruded through the cover plate and then can rotate... This then gets stuck and the latch gets stuck.
On one occasion the latch rotated slightly when the door was shut, which got stuck and prevented the door from opening. This happened to the kitchen door when I was away on business and necessitated a locksmith being called out at £90... So not good."
