"the SDS fitting is quite soft metal. I used as recommended with a core drill having a clutch, and was drilling 152mm dia for a fan through brick / block wall. It snatched and twisted the SDS grouve into a spiral, I had to use a vice and hammer to remove. Screwfix replaced, Even without incident , the replacement is showing marks in the metal from the drill chuck.
Summary - may be OK for smaller cores, avoid if using larger diammeter, or tough material which may produce high torque."
"Bought this for use with my Titan SDS drill. After drilling one 50mm hole with my core drill I noticed that the shaft of the Arbor had twisted and the SDS flukes on the Arbor shaft were bent out of shape. This made it very difficult to remove the Arbor from my drill, which could have proved costly because the drill would have to have been written off too. Why don't the company who manufacture this Arbor use the same hard steel that they use to manufacture the drill bits. Buy with caution."
"bought this arbor along with core drill ,drill guide and ejector drift , managed to drill through soft block ok but half inch into brick, arbor sheared . i then spent 3 hours trying to remove piece that was left in drill chuck.so not pleased."
"I drilled one 100mm hole with this shank fitted into a SDS drill with a clutch. The core drill never jammed or was pushed with any force. When I looked at the shank after use it was twisted and distorted."
