"Excellent product & quality for the price, took minutes to fit and no leaks good job well done. Reliability and price is Screw fixes policy for the products they sell, not for getting quality service by people who go out of there way to help you. Keep up the good work Screw fix. Mr Plum."
"Existing gate valve had failed to reopen after fitting new kitchen taps, needed exact size length to make refit easy!!!. Good old Screwfix! got the right size and on a late Saturday afternoon. Thanks for my local Screwfix store."
"Only have 3 for reliability as will not know how these perform until a few years down the line but much better value than other expensive brands. LIme-scale build up etc always impacts this type of device over time so paying more for a name doesn't make sense to me. Had to replace 5 of these on a pumped shower system due to build up, they will probably be re-used once I've got rid of the lime scale and greased the shafts etc"
"This is signifantly cheaper than the Pegler version and comparing the two side by side you can see why in the quality of the casting, etc. Both have full bore opening by the way. Watch the size if you are wanting to just replace a faulty valve body - the Pegler is significantly bigger and has a finer thread on the nuts so if your current valve is the Pegler version, this one will not fit without adapting the pipework."
"This isn't a full bore gate valve like the one I was replacing. I guess the Pegler gate valve they sell is probably full bore and may be a better choice if maximum flow rate is important in your application. Other than that, it's a nicely made valve that works well."
"Note, these gate valves significantly reduce the diameter of a 22mm pipe (ie they are not straight through) and so are not suitable for the feed pipe to a power shower. Wish it had said this on the description!"
