"Bought this for kindling Knowing that it would need sharpening before use. After sharpening axe was the ideal weight and made an excellent tool for chopping kindling. Not used it a great deal so don't know how well it will keep its edge."
"I lived in Sweden for a few years and have cut and seasoned tons and tons of firewood. Alas, I left all my lovely axes there when I moved back, but I know my axes. For £12, this is a good value general purpose hand axe. Reasonable hickory handle and the head profile is general purpose - somewhere between what in Sweden would be a birch cleaving and a hardwood axe. Despite the sales description, the axe comes blunt and needs to be sharpened before use. Lots of guides on the internet, but you really need a file and an axe stone or equivalent to get a good edge. Once sharpened it is fine. Not in the same league as a Gränsfors, but good value for 12 quid."
"Picked this up in the xmas sale for bargain price of less than a fiver . However on removing the protector from the axe blade I found it to be ridiculously blunt. Hardly makes a dent on some wood logs for fire, let enough cut into them
Will need to get it sharpened before it can be use, but at the price in the sale it's worth keeping."
