"Bought this initially to help with sanding floorboards to get into the tighter spots I couldn't get to with my big belt sander. For the money it works brilliantly, quite noisy ( but aren't all belt sanders) , found the dust extraction port it came with useless as it wouldn't stay on and mounts too low and as others have said it does get very hot after 5mins or so. Still a very handy sander that I've used time and time again and haven't had a problem with yet.
Also works well as someone else said to give the misses a pedicure ;)"
"Needed to sand down a door way removing years of gloss paint, having tried a scraper and regular sander, decided I needed something a bit more suitable if I didn't want to spend four weeks on the job.
Queue evolution mini belt sander. It's small enough to get into a lot of spaces (although not all - fine detail work is not going to be right thing to use this for!)
If you are like me and haven't used one before, carefully select your sandpaper grade and watch you edges - it can be fierce and will round off a straight line very fast if you arnt concentrating. Dust extract (I was using a cheap screwfix Titan vacuum) is pretty vital as there is duat flying everywhere otherwise!
"This belt sander is just the job for those small sanding jobs around the house. I used it for sanding the rough edge of cabinets after they had been cut down. Material removal is quick and effective. Belt replacement is achieved in seconds and belt replacement costs are very low, so you can afford to have several grades of grit available for use. The sander fits the hand perfectly, with no 'white finger' invoking vibration unlike most sheet/detail sanders, which is great if you have lots to sand down! The only thing that I can think of that is a downside is that the sander does get hot quite quickly with continuous use; so much so that I couldn't hold it any longer (time for a cuppa); but Evolution products are generally well made and this shouldn't become a long term issue for premature failure."
"Purchased the Evolution mini-sander, brilliant piece of kit. Only gave 4 stars for the reliability as I have only had it a couple of days. This sander will do anything you want it to do, I would recommend it to anybody looking for a new or replacement sander, plus you have the "Evolution" name behing it. Extremely well pleased."
"I bought this mini belt sander for 2 reasons 1). Small jobs that it handles great, good for getting into smaller spaces and for what it is and its size punches well above its weight, 2). As a pedicure tool for our lasses feet, being a lad who trough’s caution to the wind, this is one of the better buys, first she wasn’t too keen, but after watching me test it in myself she now love’s in and the best groomed feet this side of the Mississippi"
"it may be small....but it is mighty! strips down, smooths out everything so quickly!!!! for a tradesman like me, it's a definite yes. the ultimate sander with a incredibly low price!!! all credit to screwfix and evolution. THANK YOU"
"It is the best £25 you will ever spend if you want to sand say a skirting board or the edge of a door. It does make a bit of noise and the dust bag is mainly for show but as a sander its is fantastic!"
"Bought this 24:95 at Screwfix and have been using it on premium Ply which I'd bonded together for shelving. It's highlighted the side grain beautifully. It's a fabulous product at this price, a Cabinet makers dream. The only downside is that the dust bag keeps falling off but a bit of tape on it does the job. Use a Vac/workshop or outside. 3 different belts/ grades of paper come with it. Could of had more. Have been very surprised with it's power. It does get hot but use a glove and take breaks."
"This is a great little sander. It completed the job I bout it for with ease. I have now got a list of other jobs to use it on. The belts change really quick. It comes with three belts and one on the sander. Good value.."
"This sander is just what I needed. Can be manipulated with one hand and is perfect for fine tuning doors, cuts and generally gets put to use all over. I did have one of the belts separate along the join line when very new, but other than that it;s been great. As others have said, it does get hot in use but nothing a pair of gloves can't sort."
"Using the coarsest sand paper (30) this handy little tool was ideal to strip varnish from an old headboard - so much faster then using one of those 'Iron' shaped orbital sanders and easier to use than the bigger machines. Gets pretty hot and would recommend using work gloves."
