"Unlike one of the previous reviewers we appear to have a perfectly good ding and a dong so very apt for Xmas!! I Despite my electrician telling me that my transformer is functioning correctly and the bell was the issue I could not get this to operate on mains power so switched to battery power and now back in business!!"
"Our old wireless doorbell suffered from ghostly rings in the night - when there was noone at the door it sometimes sounded for no reason. Changing the frequency channel didn't help. Sometimes it also failed to ring when the button was pushed.
I got fed up with this, and was also concious that it was bathing my family constantly in low level microwave radiation. So I replaced it with this wired doorbell which has a nicer ring (a real bell rather than an electronic imitation) and is louder.
Overall it works well. The only thing I would say is that bell wire supplied with the unit is very thin, I used thicker stronger wire instead."
"Bought this to replace wireless doorbell. Read previous reviews but still went ahead with purchase. No mention of what battery was required. Wire is thin but ok if careful, used auto strippers to remove insulation at each end. P clips supplied are way too large for supplied bell wire. Mounting screws and rawplugs are fine. Works well no problems."
"Bought this to replace a wireless bell as it was intermittent. Installed it, fitted a brand new battery, pressed the bell........nothing! Tried a single piece of wire across terminals....nothing. Only worked once I took it back off the wall, tipped it forward and at a sideways angle and then it was still intermittent. Would I buy another one? Not a chance. In this case it really was 'buy cheap, buy twice'"
