Makes life easy

"Good little product although for what it is, a bit pricey. it is only 20 tiny plates of steel after all. Easily fixed, just a bit of gentle hammering. Gives adequate protection for cable & pipe runs under the floorboards for the not too enthusiastic use of a drill, screw or nail."

"I use these a lot and find them great protection for pipes and cables within floors and partitions also good for holding the same in position until floors & plasterboard are subsequently fixed"

Good for saving pipes

"I've found these most useful for covering over pipes in notches - having accidently screwed though a pipe just after fitting it and forgetting it was there."

Useful in single stud
25-Apr-2010
By
, Norfolk
"Useful for cables and pipes passing through single-thickness stud walls.
Wiring regs says cables must be RCD protected at less than 50mm depth, but these provides that bit extra protection - useful when fixing plasterboard.
A power nailer would almost certainly pass straight through them though."

Solves a problem
26-Nov-2009
By
, Wales
"From an electricians point of view with regards to complying to wiring regs, best to not have to resort to protecting cables with metal plates but if you really need them to solve a problem these are not bad. They are a little bit on the thin side and a nail could penetrate them if you really tried but they can be doubled up and staggered, I would argue that they would comply with regs in certain situations. I have seen much heavier duty and larger protector plates available but they cost much, much more."

Smaller than I thought
25-Sep-2009
By
, Wiltshire
"It was hard to tell from the image, but I guessed they'd be about the size of a postcard. However, they're only 45mm x 90mm - about the size of a credit card. Does the job, but not as economical as I'd expected."
