"This lock is perfect for my cloakroom as I didn't want a bulk standard bolt. As for it being to stiff to use hasn't the other person heard of WD40 all locks need a bit of oil from time to time. The only thing I would say is the locking tab would look better if it was chrome plated rather than being passivated which gives it a yellowish colour. Other than that it's good value for money."
"The item has a quality chrome coating, inexpensive and is much better than a standard door bolt. The only issue is that the latch, when in the unlocked position, retracts and protrudes significantly. Modified by disassembling the lock and cutting the latch along one of the groove marks. This limits the latch throw but is easily restricted by using a screw as a bumpstop behind the keep/striking plate. With this modification the lock is aesthetically more pleasing when in the unlocked position as the latch can no longer be seen."
"Bought this for a bathroom door - it does the job very well, was easy to fit, seems strong, and was a very good price. However the finish on the bar that slides across is just bare metal and looks very cheap, not the sort of finish you'd want if your bathroom is posh!"
"A decent enough fixing that is let down by shoddy screws. 2 sheared off when trying top tighten, and 2 others stripped the crosshead. Not happy. Will be returning for a full refund plus replacement screws.....
Would not recommend buying unless using replacement screws."
"I have purchased this item and the fixing screws that come with it THREE IN ALL! When you require SIX. The screws have not even got a thread! A wasted journey! Advise you check the contents before you leave the store!"
"Fitted 2 of these to WC's in a student house and after a couple of days use both were so difficult to turn the tenants stopped using them! Also bought a dozen door entrance sets of which 4 have been replaced within 18 months because they malfunctioned and couldn't be locked - poor quality, again. TIME IS MONEY."
