"very solid and secure, I had it fixed by a pro so that was easy too. Arrived as promised and delivery man was very helpful. Enhances the property-used as side door to garage. Much better than softwood and half the price of upvc."

Review 2 for Jeld-Wen Taylor Double-Glazed Exterior Door Meranti Veneer 762 x 1981mm
"This is an attractive-looking door that comes nicely glazed but otherwise unfinished. It's a very attractive hardwood veneer, but the finish was fairly rough around the windows and needed sanding. Slots for hinges and locks were fairly easy to cut and I painted it with wood preservative, primer, 2 coats undercoat and 2 coats high quality exterior gloss paint from the leading brand. Unfortunately, this was not enough to completely seal this door which is very prone to absorbing water and swelling particularly around the glazing and around joints and, of course any opening you need to make. Within a few days of putting the door up, I was dismayed to see that it was visibling bowing, sticking in the frame and that the paint had cracked open around the windows and the joints below. I tried to fix it by taking the door down, slowly drying it, filling and repainting, but to no avail, the joints are weak and just crack open again, let in water, expand by millimeters more..... so our front door is pretty much unusable. In conclusion, I'm saving up for a proper hardwood door, where these problems just don't occur. It may be possible to seal this door correctly but I suspect that you would need to dismantle the glazing and bed it properly in silicone for any success, and treat it very very delicately for ever after......"
