Good Value for money

"These trip switches are really good value for money, easy to use and easy to install.
The kit comes complete with all the trips you need (eg lights, sockets, shower, cooker, shed etc)
Infact it comes with to many as I only have upstairs and downstairs lighting rings, sockets and a shower.
It really looks good better than most other trip boxes on the market in my opinion!
The spirit level is well helpful and should also be included in socket boxes! (Warning sockets manufacturers I might patent it!)"

Good for RCBO's

"dunno what the other reviewer is going on about, he must have bought the wrong board! it's got one RCD and comes with 2 RCBO's and is great value for money considering it's £7 more that the dual RCD 10 way board but it comes with 2 x RCBO's which retail at £18 odd.
what i normally do is buy a few extra RCBO's to put the rings/radials and lighting circuits on so they are seperate, and just bung the rest (cooker/shower/fire/boiler etc) on the RCD side.
this cuts down on nuisance tripping, and makes fault finding a heck of a lot easier

BG 10-Way Fully Insulated Main

"I have now fitted quite a few of these CUs, the reason being they are very adaptable and as an electrician easy to install, the price has increased a little in the last couple of years.
But overall a very good board at the range it is placed in and a fair price for the unit and any additional devices, such as MCBs or RCBOs

Quarter turn fixings
28 Mar 2014
By
, Surrey
"OK Consumer unit.
If I have to say anything serious, it's that the quarter turn fixings for the front cover are rather TOO easy to remove. - I think a bit more "screwing" would be more likely to put off ill-advised entry attempts.
Oh, and the "spirit level" is a laughable gimic. - I'd sooner save another 50p, since the one in the unit I installed was so far wrong, even Mrs Brown would have complained had I relied on it!"

BG Consumer Unit
6 Aug 2012

"I fit a lot of BG Consumer Units from Screwfix, never had a problem until i purchased this one 2 weeks ago, thought the price was good compared to elsewhere. on removing from box at job realised they have cut back on cost fitting only a single RCD thus not allowing you to split the load. I returned the unit to Screwfix, No problem with refund and purchased the Twin RCD which worked out pennies different and they had 1400 in there main warehouse."
