"I had one of these years ago which was made of wood with a metal cap. When I saw this was made of plastic I was a little sceptical but I need not have been. It is made of extremely dense plastic which is very tough. The supplied metal rod slips easily through the cross-drilled hole to aid removal of the tool after use. With the aid of a sledgehammer it quickly and efficiently drove 2 Metpost spikes into frozen ground along with a shorter repair spike around the remains of a wooden post which had broken off below ground level and was embedded in concrete. Great value and should last ages. I have read other reviews about it getting stuck in the Metpost, I can only think people were using the wrong size!"

Review 3 for Fence Spike Driving In Tool 75 / 100mm
I recently used to tool to drive in a few post spikes. It works by inserting it in to spike and acts as a platform for the mallet/sledge hammer to hammer on to.
It makes driving spikes in much easier and I would definitely recommend getting one if you need to put some fences up.
The only slight negative was the metal rod that slides through the tool can start to bend as you hammer the tool. Every now and then you may need to remove the tool, and tap out the bend in the metal rod.
