"I have fitted a lot of these over the last few years and they have all been reliable. I use compact fluorescents in mine and so they are very economical. The build quality is very robust and they should last a long time."
"Bought several for my loft, haven't had them long enough to review performance and reliability but feels nice and solid compared with the equiv I've seen in other shops. Was a bit confused whether bulbs were supplied, removed bulbs from my basket as last sentence in description suggested a bulb was supplied - got home to find no bulbs. Still good value though."
"Well made. Doddle to wire, solid bit of kit. Amazing price too. I docked one on features because there wouldn't be enough room inside for a second set of wires to daisy-chain another lamp off this one. Works great with the LED bulb #18169 too!"
"Bought a couple of these a few months ago & still working fine. Easy to install & provide good lighting on garden path. Seem to be quite solid & well made. Have now bought another two for extra garden area."
"Great value: alloy casing, glass lens, and the bolts and threads all worked fine. How do they do it for only £6.30? Provided the rain doesn't get in, I'm impressed. Tips: easier to connect the cables, specially the earth one, if you unscrew the lampholder first; and the reflector may end up in contact with anything but the slimmest lamp - if that bothers you."
"Really like these, they come with rubber gasket / grommets and heatshrink for cables for outdoor use. Very sturdy. I used one for a cupboard light so can't comment on longevity but very impressed none the less. Mount with 2 screws."
"for £6 youre not going to get this kind of quality anywhere else Its LAP branded, the whole casing is galvanised steel & the cover itself is pretty much unbreakable 1/4 inch thick plastic. Looks wise its not going to win any awards but thats pretty obvious but it is small, neat & well made.
paired with one of the 20w sylvania spirals http://www.screwfix.com/p/sylvania-spiral-cfl-es-20w/24732 (short bulbs are needed in this,a standard low energy bulb wont fit) it throws a good amount of light out after the 20 second warmup period,"
"Have just updated 40 year old bulkheads with 30 of these for communal areas in blocks of flats. Have added dusk-to-dawn sensors and the lighting is exceptional even when fitted with 7W bulbs. Much safer environment in stairwells and low electricity consumption. Brilliant value."
