"Great quality simple weatherproof enclosure. I have used several of these of this size and larger. Always well built and easy to fit to. Only criticism is the size of the screws used to fit the lid .. would be better if they were a bit bigger."
"The box its self is very good at a good price, it has a 20mm drill out not a knockout in each size and a 20/25mm in the back. You can if you mark and drill it carefully, you can get 2 20mm down 2 sides, (it's not a square box). I have used it for outside flood lighting, and is working great, the screws that hold the lid on are very soft and the heads miss shape easily as other reviewers have said, I ended up using a wide flat headed screwdriver to get them done up, after all if they are not tight then they are not a lot of good, as as we all know water and electric don't mix.
I would recommend the box and will be using it again, would be nice if the screws were a bit better"
"Well made with no nasty sharp edges. The tiddly lid screws can cause a tantrum if you drop them, or they ping out before biting, pre-fixing can alleviate this. Variable sizes encourage diversity...I mean, why stash yer sparklers in a Hatton Garden strongbox when you can hide them in this?"
"It does the job, should keep most of the weather out, but for the lack of rubber grommets which would have made a better seal around the cabling. But at the end of the day it looks OK for a gray plastic box."
"Usually Screwfix products do the job, but this abomination is amazingly frustrating!
After feeding all the wires through glands( not included), completing the wiring block (not included) and fixing in place, it came as somewhat a surprise that not one, nor two, nor three but all four screws that secure the face plate in situ sheared at the head-shaft junction.
It would appear that this happens frequently, there are other reviews that suggest the same,"
"I am a great fan of screw fix but these boxes are rubbish and cause me a great deal of problems as the fixing screws are of such poor quality they simple snap and( I was only using a screwdriver) which then renders the box useless and needing changing and all the time waste of having to redriill holes and rewiring, I also used some of the light switches which have much stronger screws."
"I have just fitted 11 of these with Steel Wired Armour (SWA) cable. So when I undid them to test, a large proportion of the screws snapped. I had to rebore the hole and use better screws as I did not want to reterminate all the SWA connections into a new box. I was not heavy handed, after the first few screws snapped I undid the others carefully, but still a fair few snapped, meaning the box would no longer be waterproof. If it wasn't for this it would be a good box, however due to the importance of the screws and their poor quality I would never buy this product again as it was so much hassle."
