"I installed a set of these to my old fusebox some time ago. An easy and cost effective way to upgrade. Having just bought a new oven with a lower rateing it was a simple job to replace the 32 A MCB with a 16 A. Job done."
"These are a brilliant piece of kit. Switch off the mains, pull out the old type fuse holders, remove the cover over the fuse holder, replace with the new cover supplied (different colours for different ratings) then plug in the MCB. Switch on and job done! Just ensure that the correct rated MCB replaces each fuse.
No more fiddling about replacing fuse wire in the holder. The only drawback, if you can call it one, is that if a bulb blows the MCB MAY trip out, but we can live with that for the additional safety."
"When I discovered that the tenants had replaced 3 out of 5 of the old cartridge fuses with thick copper wire, I realised that cartridge fuses were not safe to have in a rented house.
These plug-in MCBs are a great alternative and no time or trouble to fix. (However, they do stick out a bit, so -- depending on the location of your meter -- you may need to protect them from knocks)."
"After putting these mcb's in an 80 plus old ladies house instead of cartridge fuses to make her unit a more upto date and b make it easier for her to use herself. The lady had flooded her bathroom and water had been running through her kitchen light. With no easy way for a lady to isolate the light. The item is easy to install and to use."
