"We've just moved into a 200 year old cottage with a pan tile roof. Despite most of the roof felt being fine, and just as another reviewer predicted, the felt has rotted where it folds into the gutter. All I needed to do was lift the bottom row of tiles and gently push the tray under the old felt, making a few cut-outs to avoid any nails etc. The tray was easy to cut with a saw or by scoring it with a knife and then snapping it. I did need to adjust the 'bend angle' as my roof slope is quite shallow but this was easy after pouring boiling water on it."
"Nothing wrong with this product. It does exactly what it should do. The only criticism would be price. You can purchase this quite easily from a builders merchant for about two pounds in money per meter inc VAT....also in 1.5m lengths."
"Wonderful product: I've used these support trays to repair badly worn felt under pantiles. The usual problem with felt & pantiles is water puddling just before the gutter. Then, a combination of UV and freeze/thaw does a brilliant job of destroying the felt. End result: water on the wall plate and/or barge board etc, and even damp patches inside the house. Solution: remove the bottom row of tiles, trim back the old felt and slide these support trays under. Fix them with stainless steel screws for a permanent fit. To really complete the job, fit the comb filler to stop birds and the like getting into the roof space. Both these items are relatively expensive from Screwfix, as I've found to my cost!"
"This product is absolutely perfect where the existing under tile roof felt has degraded at the eaves. Installation is easy and once in place you feel as though your property is secure from the weather for decades to come."
"Great items, just push roof tiles back, cut a couple of inches off old worn felt, then push these supports under old felt. pull down tiles and jobs a good un. these supports sit on the wood facia and angle upwards to support the felt, then the curve sits in the guttering, easy job to do to stop water going into your soffats."
"Excellent product !!!! dont even bother to try and get round not useing this, some paople say you can double up on felt tiles for the edges but these tray take 5 minutes to install and also give you a strait line to work from so there is no reason to mess about"
"Whoever thought that the two words "gutter" and "drip" when put together would produce a hot lather of excitement? But that's exactly the foamy frisson induced by this completely fabulous gutter drip, otherwise known as felt support. Supports felt beautifully as you might expect, but also makes a really neat job of finishing the roof line as it eases into the gutter. Pricey though....."
"These are good quality, work well with tiles on top but not so good for felt only roof. The wind recent ripped a whole row of these from one side of my garage roof. I guess because they are light, and very long per unit and the nails used to attach to the roof did not provide a large enough area to prevent cracking when lifted by the wind. Maybe battening them down before (re) laying felt would be a better plan."
"It is not the first time I am buying these but I was really disappointed by the quality this time. Bought 2 packs and each sheet had many small lumps of something and few had holes because of those lumps. C'mon, holes in plastic that is supposed to stop water. And I think this was more expensive then previously"
