"The staining on my front door was wearing where the keys brush against it. I feared that I might have to sand the whole thing down to get a good finish, but after testing on a small area I was really pleased with the results. I gave the door a light sanding, used two coats of Ronseal and it looks as good as new."

best quality wood stain

"I have used other brand wood stains but this is probably the best.
I have thinned the wood stain down for the first coat on virgin wood as otherwise the stain goes on too deep and you do not get the desired effect.
Second coat gets the desired stain depth. I recommend that you use a fine sand paper to give a smooth finish, wipe down with a damp cloth and then apply a clear varnish with a cotton rag to give a smooth and long lasting finish. You do not get a smooth finish if you apply the final coat with a brush.

"Worked better than expected on some old garden furniture that had previously been treated with Danish Oil. After a sand and a couple of coats it looked as good as new.
Needs two coats."
