"Being a plumber working on new build sites a good sharp bit is so important when drilling holes for pipe work. This makes light wait of any stud wall or timber framed house. The only downside is you need a powerful cordless to pull the bit though as it is a self winder. All in all make any job needing holes drilled this is your but"
"This product is far better than the flat bits i have used in the past.If used correctly with the appropriate drill, this bit will last a long time.I have found no problem cutting through timber up to 50mm thick."
"A good quality drill bit been using it with my 18V Dewalt Drill to drill holes through 4 inch joist. Drilled plenty of holes with it and it is still sharp and still drilling through the joist with ease so over all it is good value for money and if treated properly it should last a good while."
"Absolutely brilliant bit clean, quick and hard wearing however only issue is that the shank twisted in me whilst going through a joist and it was only on my Makita 18v drill so maybe beef up the shank like the 32mm bit ."
"The reason I have rated this item on the low side is I was not using it for the purpose it was designed for I was drilling through 8 inches of a tree log but it did the task all be it slowly due to heat build up if it was used correctly I think it would carry out the task brilliantly"
"Good for the first dozen or so holes (mostly through joists), then seemed quite quickly to become blunt. Now almost useless. At any event, some decent (Bosch) spade bits seem to make quicker progress with less effort."
"Bought to cut holes in joists, but needed to use impact driver as my 18V Makita angled driver could not drive it through. Although fluted I found it clogged easily, especially if anything thicker than 30-40mm. It's sharp enough alright, but aggressive cutting and self-driving means you need power to stop jams. Clean hole made, but not convinced better than using quality flat bits, especially at this price?"
