Good Stuff
16 May 2016
By
, Woodley, Reading
" A wood glue, made from polyurethane by a company called Evo-Stik..... Good Stuff.
Ive also used this on many other materials with excellent results. Ive just used it to repair a loose bottom newel post by drilling through the newel and pumping the adhesive through the hole to fill the joint between newel, treads and risers. Went in easily, expanded into all the gaps and set hard. Keep one in...its good stuff. "

Extraordinary Glue
29 Apr 2016
By

" Works well on wood giving fast strong bond that turns first white then translucent in time.
The seal cap keeps the glue usable for long periods.
Do wear gloves. If you get spots on your hands they turn black. Use hand cream and they will come off after 2 or 3 days!

Sticky stuff!
19 Nov 2015
By
, Linslade, Beds
" It makes a very strong and reliable bond on a variety of materials. I use it on oak worktops and staircases and I haven't found anything better.
Clamp it for 5 minutes and it bonds, after a couple of hours it amazingly strong.
Clean up when it's still soft with heavy duty wipes.

Reliable and useful

" I've used this PU adhesive for years now for so many tasks: joinery, dry lining where it inst worth mixing up adhesive, creating laminated structures (glulam and laminates), replacing broken tiles where levelling is critical, binding crumbing walls for fixings, even repairing a panel on my car where the fixing had to be cut out and couldn't be replaced. When used with biscuits you can create butt joints in timber that are stronger than the wood itself. When fixing through plasterboard into the wall behind you can use this to support the fixing and just use normal plugs and screws. Initial cure to reworking is about 45 minutes with really good strength after about 4 hours.
It is very easy to clean up when uncured using any solvent I've tried (acetone, alcohol, proprietary cleaner mixes). Screwfix's No-Nonsense foam gun cleaner with the spray nozzle is perfect and I always keep one to hand when I am using this adhesive to clean off my fingers and any clothing that gets soiled with it.
Be aware that there is a cut off point between uncured and fully cured where you should not disturb it. Once it has skinned over do not expose it to a solvent of cut it or you will disrupt the curing and it will not expand properly to fill the gaps as it all rushes out of the hole you just made. It is basically a low expansion PU foam, so it behaves exactly the same during curing. Lightly wet surfaces to be bonded to get a better bond.
Once cured you'll need to use physical removal. I find a new Stanley knife blade cuts it off flush cleanly. I've not yet encountered any job that it has gone wrong with.
It is expensive for what it is, but it is a time saver over using more traditional adhesives and you only need to carry one tool (plus a solvent). "

perfect

" I put 3 shelves up in a cupboard for a customer. Nowhere to put screws without ruining the wall exterior. So I used this stuff. A year later, the shelves haven't moved a millimetre, and all 3 are loaded up with clothes and shoes etc. I now use it all the time, where I would have used beading and screws for support. And if you're careful, you can't even see this adhesive. But be warned, DO NOT get it on your skin or clothes. It does NOT come off, even before it has hardened. I haven't yet found a solvent to get it off. I don't think there is one. And sandpapering your fingers isn't pleasant. Very highly recommended adhesive for all jobs. "

Best glue for rough work
20 Feb 2015

" Used to splice joint fence post on top of each other to extend height of fence and worked exceptionally well with some flat steel bar to reinforce.
Good for rough work as this stuff expands and is not easy to clean off anything.

Super strong & dry in 10 min
7 Jan 2015
By
, London
" Best I ever used, very strong, touch dry in 10 min and rock solid in 60 min. Make sure to wear 2-3 layer of gloves because the active ingredient is going to destroy the outer layer of a thin gloves.
You don't want this on your fingers :)
Do not put too much because of the excess adhesive is going to expand like expansion foam on your work piece and will be visible because of bubles.

Very quick and solid.
20 Dec 2014

" I had to fix a piece of 2 x 1 sawn into a concrete
slotted corner post with no bolt holes in it
after using this product it was as solid as the post itself just leaving me to use it to fix a timber outer leaf of 4x2 with a couple of screws so I could fix a timber gate to it very quick and secure.

Great Adhesive
13 Nov 2013
By
, Perthshire
" Bought this to glue to stick plywood strips together on the curved end of a deck having struggled with PVA based wood glue.
It may be more expensive but it sets quickly and was fully set after a few hours allowing me to continue working and add more strips of plywood.
I now have a couple of these in the workshop instead of PVA.

great wood glue
12 Jan 2013
By
, london
" excellent glue, ignore the review about it drying too fast, it's description is self explanatory!
I have seen lots of carpenters using this stuff and would say that if the professionals use it, it's good enough for me.
It sticks so well you will destroy the wood trying to get it apart. "

You have to warm it up!
20 Mar 2011
By
, Devon
" Have read previous reviews and one simple solution if it goes stiff (all polyurethane's go stiff in cold weather):
-Put tube in bucket of hot water (boiled from kettle if possible) for 20mins/half hour before you use it.
- It goes stiff in cold weather so if you want to use it without having to heat it then store at room temperature (not in your shed! - unless it's summertime)
- Otherwise many other brands sell polyurethane (expanding) glue in pots rather than gun tubes which means when it's cold you can reach in with a stick and apply like spreading honey on your toast.
Brilliant stuff btw. My all time favourite glue! And yes, buy the rapid setting stuff (like this one!) to save time. And wet the wood to save time also and to get a better bond. Extremely strong and 100% waterproof! Boat builders use this stuff all the time. "

Excellent Product - good stuff
27 Apr 2010
By
, London
" This, as with all the polyurethane wood glues, does exactly what it says on the package.
A hint for those of you who are not going to use it all on the same day:
Immediately after each use, carefully seal the tip with a little pvc tape and replace the cap, to keep out as much moisture as possible.
As soon the job is finisted, seal the tip as above and place the tube in the refrigerator, or better still, the freezer.
This stuff cures by exposure to moisture, which is a catalyst. That is to say the moisture merely enables the hardening process, it is not used up in the process, so mere exposure to moist air will cause the whole tube to eventually harden.
Keeping it cold in the freezer slows the chemical hardening process to almost nil. It will keep for a year or longer.
This is definately good stuff. "

Best adhesive - but what cost
19 May 2009
By
, South Yorkshire
" This is undoubtedly an excellent adhesive which does everything claimed except last. If you think you will use the tube inside a couple of weeks, this is the adhesive for you. If you have a few joints now and want to save the rest then divide the cost into the joints you are making immediately as every tube I've had has solidified in the tube. The tubes have an expiry date so be sure you look at it when you buy.
I will add that the manufactuers are excellent and helpful but they have to get over the in-tube setting issue. This would then be the best adhesive I've used in five decades!
