" This is an excellent method for concealing cables, just make sure the cables are in the grove when you screw it down. "

" Used this prior to dot and dab on blocks fixing with drywall screws, does the job, cracks sometimes if you get the screw in the wrong place so always use the larger size, otherwise great. "

" Needed this for covering cables prior to dot and dabbing plasterboard on lightweight blocks. I used drywall screws to attach to block. No splitting even without predrilling. cheap and cheerful!! "

Plastic capping

" A reasonable product that will do the job, ideal for covering coaxial cable, but if you need full cable protection use metal capping. "

" Glued in place rather than nailing so no splitting isues. Won't protect against damage but will hold cables in place while plastering. "

Fair product for fair price
30 May 2012

" I was installing a ring and some lighting circuits; and this provides good protection.
The only issue is you have to buy wall pins to fix them as anything else (electric pinner) just shatters them.
Drilling and screwing takes to long. Hammering in wall pins is about the best.
Protection wise it will not stop you accidentaly drilling the cable or a nail putting a picture up but it should give you an indication something is there before you go too far. "

Good value for money

" Good value for money, although a little fragile. Drill 4mm holes at 250mm centers just a little back from each edge and then use capping nails to avoid splitting. "

The most brittle capping ever.
4 Aug 2015
By
, St.Helens
" This capping cracks and breaks at the slightest touch, making attaching it to walls impossible with nails.
First time I have plugged and screwed capping on to a wall. (after pre-drilling the capping) "

Cheap ... but not cheerful

" Pre-drilling doesn't even often help - even cutting can result in a shatter ... best advice if you've bought it ... glue it to the wall ! "

" I used this to trunk some HDMI cables and other AV bits before plastering. OK but if I did it again I would go for something more sturdy as this is a little flimsy and cracked when screwing in. "
