"Fitted to plinth of kitchen and illuminate the floor well. There is plenty of cable per light as i was a little worried i wouldn't have enough. They have proved reliable as have had them for 11 months with no issues. It's worth remembering that as they are LED lights when one bulb goes, it cannot be replaced (just like your Christmas lights) hopefully that may avoid any confusion as shown in other reviews."
"1) The illumination given out by each lamp is just right to illuminate the floor area under the kitchen units. The light is pure white as opposed to warm white. 2) There was more than enough cable to run the lamps round to the kitchen units plinth's. Plus plenty of cable to run back to the transformer from the splitter box. 3) At present they are working fine but I have only had them installed for a few weeks so a bit hard to comment on reliability really, at present they are working fine. 4) Very easy to install just need to drill holes in the plinths then push them in. No glue or screws needed."
"Installed these in the kitchen around the plinth and some above the top trim. Look fantastic and as they use so little power are great as low level lighting so you don't walk into the kitchen in total darkness. One of the three sets I bought had a faulty transformer but this was replaced by Screwfix and since then I haven't had any further problems. Really bright low energy back lighting which really make a kitchen installation look a lot more expensive."
"Bought these for plynth lighting under my kitchen cupboards and must say they look great when installed. Great kit at a good price. LED's are fairly small in diameter though so bear that in mind when purchasing. Not the brightest either but if its mood lighting your after, which i was, then these are great. Plenty of cable on all LED's. No wiring involved just plug and play. One thing to take into consideration is this kit comes with a 3 pin plug with built in transformer to power them up, something which i believe is not in the description"
"Bought two sets of these for use in my kitchen as plynth lights. Very easy to fit, loads of wire on each light and transformer. Only marked reliability 3 stars as one of the transformers packed up( got it replaced no problem)"
"I wanted to install some downlights in the bases of my wall-mounted kitchen cabinets. This kit consists of a transformer (with plug for the mains socket) and 10 lights (each with 5 metres of cable attached). You will need a 12 or 13mm drill bit to drill the holes for the lights.
I decided against drilling holes in the bases of the kitchen cabinets, since I thought it would make the insides of the cabinets look messy. Instead, I bought some battens of wood (34 x 21mm) and drilled holes in the wood in which to insert the lights. I fixed this in place under the cabinets, as the first photo illustrates.
Because each of the lights has 5 metres of cable attached to it, you end up with something of a "spaghetti junction" of cabling, which has to be concealed somewhere. I built a false panel to sit in the back of one of the cabinets and hid it behind that.
For £19.99, the kit seems like decent value. The main annoyance is the huge amount of cable which you finish up with and which has to be hidden somewhere.
Two point to note are that the lights are not hugely bright (this is very much "mood" lighting, though you can create a bit more light by pulling each light slightly out of the hole which you have drilled for it) and that the lights do not appear to be replaceable. In other words, if one goes wrong, you have to buty a whole new kit.
"These are rated 0.05w per light! Good for effect as noted in other reviews but not bright enough to seriously illuminate. Good value if you want for nightlight or decorative effect. Didnt use them in the end for this reason."
