"I bought this for a one-off task of determining ground levels for a series of ponds. Although not rated for outdoor use (i.e. not weatherproof), the laser dot is well bright enough. It also comes with a line generator and vertical deflection mirror that plug into the hole that the laser emits from. These may prove a bit trickier to setup perfectly level, but are an added bonus that I hadn't expected. For the price I am well happy."
"Replacement for old one that went walk-about. Had trouble finding one until I looked in your new Cat. In stock at your store in Devizes. Great staff, and good service. Thank you. Trial run works fine, better than my old one and has very welcome box"
"Not really suitable for precision work, but as a general guide it's perfect. I've used it for setting levels for hanging pictures in a room, and also for getting a 360 level in a pond to cut in a ledge (although this is better done at dusk when the laser is clearer)"
"Brought for getting a true level for wall tiles in a bathroom refit, very time consuming to setup a good accurate level and didn't think the laser beam was very strong even in a the center of a 2m x 2.5m bathroom. Disappointing"
"The level itself is not set 100% accurate, (put it on a flat surface, turn it round and it will not give exactly the same result), although this can be taken into account and worked around. Base works fine, but the tripod is incredibly flimsy and has a LOT of movement in the bolt which connects to the base. Would not stay level when turned."
"It takes a bit of jigging to get the level reasonably levelled, and when you use it you need to be very careful so as not to un-level it again. The whole thing is designed and built in a very flimsy and loose way, but having said that, careful set-up and use can yield acceptable results on non-critical applications. Its good value for money but don’t expect it to be quick or easy to use."
"Seeing good reviews here; i bought myself this device for some build projects at home. It’s proving to be a waste of time and good money. It’s impossible to get this device levelled properly. The round bubble spirit level is mounted on one side of a triangle shape base. Clearly this is a fundamental mistake, it should have been placed in the centre of the triangle. It's impossible to use this product for precision work. Even when holding legs still and rotating the laser; it doesn't land on the same spot (the 1mm accuracy advertised is just a blatant lie) Value your sanity and stay away from this product. Despite being cheap, it’s a total waste of time and money. If you are like me, looking for a professional device at a bargain, well this one is not one of them. Stay away from this device."
"The kit was bought to fix a level on four walls of an 8x8 bathroom prior to tiling. Whilst the tripod was level the spirit level mounted on it moved fractionally each time it was rotated resulting in an incorrect level on the walls. The level on the walls determined by the kit was out by some 25mm. Therefore, a level was established using a conventional spirit level. The kit was returned to Screwfix for a refund."
"I bought this laser level to help draw a level line around the circumference of a room which I was able to do but not without difficulty as the level takes a great deal of time and patience to set up to an exact level. When rotating the unit it is very easy to knock it out of level and have to start again. The two laser accessories that are included (line generator and 90 degree) are next to useless. The tripod when at full extension is very flimsy and moves about quite a bit so best to keep the tripod small and raise it up on something."
"I was tempted more by the price than the performance. I am a professional electrician and need a laser that I can see. This one is useless because the laser line is too feint and disappears over long distances. Do not buy this product if you need a decent line to work from. Too cheap and not worth the money."
"I really love Screwfix, but this is a very flimsy bit of kit and unreliable for accuracy. The tripod is very lightweight, and the central mounting bolt failed in use, making the whole instrument unstable. Cheap, but not good value because it simply didn't do the job."
