"I decided I needed to buy a decent well known make of drill as I have previously bought unknown names and they are a false economy. couldn't believe it when I saw this Hiatchi for sale on Screwfix with 2 Li-on batteries for under 90quid. I have to say that it is awesome and will fully recommend it to friends. the batteries last a very very long time and charge in no time. coupled with the 3year guarantee this is one of the best buys ive had from Screwfix. Cant comment too much on the reliability as ive only had it for a short time, hence the 4 stars."
"This is the second hitachi drill I have bought from screwfix which in itself speaks volumes. I was so pleased with the performance of the first one and the value it represents. It more than compares with more expensive drills in power and weight and balance. I would thouroughly recommend this drill to anyone."
"This drilling machine is so good that I bought a second one. The batteries also fit my bare Hitachi impact gun so I now have 4 batteries across 3 drills. Remember to read the instructions and do not drain the li-on batteries like you did with ni-cads because it reduces the battery's life."
"Bought one a year ago for a project and its still going strong.
Built a log cabin garden room 6Mtr x 3Mtr x 2.5Mtr used about 2500 gold screws over 100mm. Not once when drilling holes or driving screws did the drill cut out through overheating. Batteries also great when one battery went flat just inserted spare started charging the other and kept going. Drill and batteries in constant use for a minimum of 8 hrs a day. Also had to drill some 12mm holes through four layers of 100mm x 50mm timber to make lintels, again no issues at all. Highly recommended"
"Well balanced in the hand, and easy to work most controls. Charger works in the 40 minutes it says. Chuck is good, clicks around items, and has good grip. Minor critiscms: - only one screwdriver bit supplied with the drill - seems a bit mean! - no electric brake so two hands needed on chuck - not a complaint because that is how it is described; - screwdriving torque control is a good range, but from low to high is almost a whole turn - just takes a bit more time - the payoff for a good range! NB: Reliability not known as not had the item for long enough."
"After a lot of browsing and comparing I chose this drill for its well know name and value for money, batteries can be purchased from the internet which was a consideration as not all makes have this after sales service, the drill is very well made and does the jobs required of it, Really good price too at Screwfix."
"This is the best drill, I have had in years! light, powerfull and with 2 batteries as well! a good price and delivered to me in France within 4 days! I tried looking for a good drill in France ,but this same model is over £230 in France, and was very well worth getting from Srewfix. Only gripe is there no light on it, but shouldnt be drilling in dark spaces!
"Bought this to replace my faithful old Makita 18v combi, which the batteries, not the drill have packed in. I was going to replace with a Li-Ion Makita until my dad told me he had bought 1 of these fantastic Hitachi's. I have to agree with him, so far so good. It's alot lighter than the old drill and has as much power. If it lasts anywhere near as long I'll be more than happy."
"I have only had chance to use the drill a couple of times, used it to drill through some steel and a couple of bits diy, seems very good value for what feels like a quality product. Only gave it 4 stars for reliability, not had it long enough to assess properly."
