"These grade A2 stainless steel screws are exceptionally strong and easy to use. The very sharp self-starting tip negates the need for a pre-drilled pilot hole and the cutting edges of the screw shaft drive it quickly and effortlessly into the wood. The screws can also be driven in close to the edge of the wood without it splitting - which is an added bonus."
"These screws are excellent quality and value and I have used them many times. They look exactly the same, years after they were installed. I will not use anything other than Stainless Steel Screws outdoors."
"The only way to buy the small stainless screws is in a set like this. However the larger screws are useful sizes as well so no problem. One of the earlier reviews does list all the contents - unlike the web page. You MUST drill a pilot hole or use a normal larger screw first otherwise - being stainless - you will either snap the head off or chew it up."
"A real bargain for such a comprehensive set of stainless fixings. Not meaning to patronise but there would appear to be a number of reviewers who seem unfamiliar with the characteristics of stainless steel. The trade-off for corrosion resistance (due to added chromium and nickel, amongst others) is a reduction in tensile strength, hence you will need to pre-drill and countersink or they will tend to break. The benefit to this one-off extra effort is to have fixings that won't rot in outdoor situations and can be removed if necessary at a later date. Usually you have to pay a lot more for this hike in material quality so this set really is excellent value."
"I've used these Turbo Ultra screws previously when building an extension roof and they're great. Good thread and easy driving but most of all, non rusting so you don't get brown stains down your walls or on your fascias. We've recently moved to a coastal site so the atmosphere is fairly agressive. I wouldn't use anything other than stainless outdoors and these screws are great value at the moment too. Only reason I dropped a star on reliability is the heads are a little softer than the standard pasivated screws so if your driver bit is a little worn, it's much easier to chew up the heads on these."
"I have always wondered why Screwfix never sold the 3.0mm Turbo Ultra screws separately. I use these stainless screws on caravans to replace the ordinary screws which eventually rust over time.
So the only way to get 3.0mm is to buy these packs.
I have no problem with the fact that these screws are softer than most other screws, as they are going into holes vacated by the old caravan screws. I use the larger screws for various other tasks, and find that driving in a Turbo Gold first, (almost all the way) as a pilot means that these Ultras don't break.
This pack covers a very wide range from 3.0x12 to 5.0x70. All are useful sizes."
"Had a few of the Turbo range and always found them excellent. Bought 200 of these to refix my fence, which was installed using nails, and they did a great job. Saw this set at an amazing price so bought 2. I'll probably wish I'd bought 4 in the future :-) Easy to drive, with a small battery driver, excellent holding power, stainless steel so no rust. Will probably use these for any screwing job I have to do, inside or out."
"Strangely the catalogue does not list what screws you get in this selection pack. So here goes:- 3.0 x 16mm (150) ___ 3.0 x 20mm (200) 3.5 x 20mm (100) ___ 4.0 x 25mm ( 80) 4.0 x 35mm ( 80) ____ 4.0 x 40mm ( 55) 4.0 x 45mm ( 30) ____ 4.0 x 50mm ( 15) 5.0 x 60mm ( 15) ____ 5.0 x 70mm ( 15)
So you can see you get a good number of some very small screws 3.0x16mm & 3.0x20mm & 3.5x20mm which you can't buy in single size packs from Screwfix. I wonder why Screwfix don't sell these small sizes in single size packs, and maybe Screwfix can answer this question ??
Then there are a good number of the slightly larger screws, and it finishes off with just a small number (15) of each the bigger size ranges.
Guessing the value of the three small ranges that you can't buy in single size packs the selection box is priced pro rata - no bulk savings, but you do get the storage box.
The plus points are you don't have to invest too much to get a range of stainless screws and its the only way to get those three very small sizes and you get hundreds of them."
"Not the kit, just the inclusion of two trays of wallplugs is (IMHO) a waste of the space inside this really useful kit. A good range of tough screws that, I'm hoping, will last a long time in our boat restoration. Compared to a similar, but smaller, kit from Screwfix (now used up) it's great value at the discounted price. Unsurprisingly, all the local Screwfix stores have sold out.
Note, it's surprisingly heavy, not especially portable, but a good quality case that may have other uses when the screws are used up."
"an excellent service provided by Screwfix and the product has surpassed all my expectations for the purpose they have been used for. Will definately use other products in the future. The speed with which the product was sent was also of the best!"
