scraping excellance
20 Mar 2010

" This scraper did a superb job. Saved so much time. I had been spending ages burning back layers of paint with a hot air gun. I bought this scraper and it just scraped off about five layers of paint right back to the wood without any heating at all. It will scrape right into the corners and right up to the glass on window frames. It has done an awfull lot of paint and varnish scraping and I am still on the first edge of the blade. "

Overall Excellent Tool

" Bought to strip a staircase and skirting, managed to almost get the whole job done on one edge of this tool, then the blade snapped in half (death by over use maybe)
Found it easier to apply heat with heat gun on lowest setting which took it clean to the wood.
Replacement blades aren't cheap, but worth every penny. Off to purchase a spare blade or 2 now.

An exceptional scraper

" This robust and comfortable tool is superb for scraping paint, removing adhesive left by vinyl tiles on timber floors, and generally cleaning up timber surfaces. Best used with both hands for firm control. The reversible blade remains secure during use and provides the convenience of quickly switching edges if you want to keep one edge keen for fine work. "

VERSATILE VALUE

" This is one of those tools you wonder how you managed without. The ergonomic design with comfortable hand grip allows you to tackle tight, awkward areas with ease and produces excellent results. I used it to shape a piece of roughly -cut oak without any loss of sharpness to the tungsten blade. A valuable addition to the tool chest - highly recommended "

" I wish I had found this scraper a long time ago. It will save you hours and hours of unpleasant scraping. I was using it to scrape flaky old Danish oil and glue off floorboards.
It works like a dream especially when the blade is very new.
Replacement blades were a bit expensive though.

Excellent TCT Bladed Tool
17 Jul 2015
By
, Nottingham
" Purchased said item after a decorator friend recommend it. I'm in the process of removing multiple layers of paint, which was taking forever to remove with heatgun and scraper since obtaining this tool paint removal has become so much easier as it has removed the multiple layers of paint down to the wood without the need of a heat gun. Well worth the money almost finished the job and still on the first bladed. "

Great addition to the tool box
10 Dec 2014
By
, Harlesden, London
" Was going to use a heat gun to strip some window frames, skirting and doors. Started down that road but was taking ages to get a good job . Was recommended this. Stripped paint and varnish a treat then finished with some sanding. Much more effective and a better finish. Have now used in loads of other applications such as taking a bit off a sticking door. "

Top notch paint remover
27 Sep 2014
By
, Sheffield
" This is the first time I've used a paint scraper that you pull along the surface and it's great!
Really does remove the paint well on its own, but found it better if the paint is softened slightly with a heat gun, item no. 59740.
On its own, with light/medium pressure it removed one layer of paint per pass or heavier pressure it removed three layers right down to bare wood.
If you are removing a lot of gloss paint like me, it is still hard work over time so found it better to heat and soften the paint slightly, then one light pass removed all three layers with ease!
Really do recommend this scraper, the tungsten carbide blades last a long time aswell!
Also recommend Heat Gun - 59740
and replacement Harris blades - 52538
"
