"I use one before in my roof and looks as good now as when I fitted 8 years ago, so to provide extract ventilation to a new shower in my main bathroom I choose this product again. It the prefect answer if you can not extract through the wall."
"I looked at a lot of different products when looking for the right roof vent to use on a job and the reviews for this vent assured me that it was right for the job. It's a great item, strong and easy enough to install. I would definitely recommend this vent."
"A very strong vent that is well designed and has not allowed any rain to get through despite a very exposed coastal location with extreme gales int the Scottish Highlands. Yes you will need the pipe as per the other reviews, but that is good quality too. If you need more information go to the manufacturers (Manthorpe Building Products) and download PDF installation and product details. Recommended."
"Product seems to be good quality but I'd like to see better instructions for a novice user like me! They are supposed to replace "any" standard size slate but were far wider than the narrow ones on my 1920's bungalow. Fitting them was not possible without too much cutting and slate removal so I had to get a refund. Shame as they would have done the job really well. The low stars for performance etc are because I can't comment on these aspects."
"The vent is good and fits easily. It really should say that you have no choice but to buy the flexi pipe too since the spigot on the inside is a ridiculous shape and nothing else would fit! Why they're not sold together I don't really understand...."
"Just for those wondering, the size of this is 600mm X 300mm but will cut down to 500 mm X 250mm. Still too big for what I wanted so will have to return I'm afraid hence the average score. The duct insert is oval shaped and 410mm in diameter. Hope this helps someone before purchase."
"i bought this item because it looked a good price got it home and realized this needed a second part (flixy pipe) this should be advertise these together or make the hole to suit the round pipe from the ducting as this feels like a rip off for the fist time using screwfix"
"As stated on the other review, spigot is a really silly shape causing the purchase of the Alpha connector. This double the cost of the vent and must be considered when buying. Overall though a shame as good quality."
"Slate vent itself is fine.. cut down easy although had to trim two slates above to fit hood aswell as the two beneath to allow vent through.. BUT.. The flexible coupling to 100mm vent pipe?? Who on earth came up with this pipe to slate coupling? Far to complicated and utterly useless.. The jubilee clip compresses the flexible pipe which us INSIDE the opening on the back of the vent?? Resultant coupling is weak at best.. wouldn't be surprised if it falls off.. Could have been far simpler and far more reliable.."
"From the picture this vent looks like you can just stick a normal pipe onto it but the spigot is actually a very long oval which means you have to buy the adapter to be able to fit a normal 4" duct pipe! Doesn't say this in the product description or the screwfix catalogue that you need an extra item (I ordered online). The Manufacturer "Manthorpe" said I need a GRPA which I think is the "Flexi Pipe" advertised in the catalogue. I am going to buy it and see. The adapter costs as much as the vent! Nice one Screwfix!"
