"I purchased this connector after the cord on my flymo lawn mower had broken.
Instructions simple to read and I managed to fit easily myself. After reading reviews i did mark up both parts of the adapter so i know the wires will not get crossed over. I am not an electrician so not sure if you have to do this but better to be safe then sorry!
Worked straight away and saved me a fortune purchasing a new lawnmower!"
"This plug does just what is needed and looks as if it will last for years. One note - please only use this on Class 2 electrical appliances - which are double insulated and it does not matter if live and neutral are reversed. You can tell if your appliance is Class 2 by looking for the double square logo on the appliance next to the model number and serial number. This is not designed for supplies to appliances which are polarity sensitive. It is brilliant at what it was designed for!"
"I bought two of these for my hedge and pole trimmers after reading the reviews. The product seems sturdy enough and only time will tell if it stands up to gardening abuse and they don't seperate on their own whilst in use. Not sure why people have to mark the plug and socket as it is clearly identifiable which way round they go by the markings on the casing and that one side has a screw head and the other a nut."
"Purchased this product to renew a damaged cable without having to open up the tool and would then allow for easy future replacement of the cable. The product is robust and easy to wire up and fit with careful attention. To open it up you just unscrew the case screw ensuring the nut doesn't get lost and extract the screw. The unit is clearly marked for where the wires go but do ensure you note which way round you push it back into the case. Operation is obviously simple with just pushing it together. However a big WARNING is that you can push this connector together the wrong way round (as the pins and sockets are centrally located) and therefore reverse the Live and Neutral contacts so anyone using this product is strongly advised to mark one side of each connector to enable them to be connected without reversing the Live and Neutral. For this I've maked down the otherwise good features and overall rating accordingly."
"Having accidentally cut through the cable on my hedge clippers I looked for one of these at my local garden centre who wanted to charge me almost double the price for a generic equivalent. I popped into my local Screwfix next door and purchased from them. The product was almost identical to the one offered in the garden centre, just a diiferent colour. The orange version suited me because the cable itself was orange. Removing the fastening nut from the main assembly was a little fiddly, but this was overcome by the use of a pin (it gets stuck in the housing when you remove the screw!) Be carful when you fit the cables becaused the internal parts can separate easily and you need to have your jigsaw skills handy to put it together again. Otherwise OK!"
